Hey guys I was just wondering if you could help me out here. I don't have enough money for the Maruzen, and I'm want to get an l96, but I have a few questions. I have heard that the Warrior and utg l96 are actually the same gun. Is this true? If not, which one is better, and what are the differences?

Neither of those guns are really good. If you just want something for looks, by all means get the UTG or Well (99% sure they're the exact same gun). If you want something that will function great, save up and get the Maruzen. You will thank yourself later if you do.

I agree save up for the Maruzen. I previously owned a UTG L96 and its really not that great. Sure its fun for a while but after you use it for a bit you'll see that it really cannot be compared to the quality and functionality as the Maruzen.

I agree, I bought Myers' L96 off of him, and the quality is really sub-par. After cleaning it and regreasing it though, I can hit 250 feet accurately(got a tape measure out). I have noticed that it's slowly shooting less accurately and shorter though, and I'm not surprised. The only reason to buy one IMO is for plinking.

This gun is trash. Please read the dozens of posts before yours. Everyone wants an L96 so they can be the leet sniper of the year. Short of a high-end model, you won't find one.
These guns were made to mimic a popular platform, and perform horribly. After a few hundred shots, it eats it's own hopup assembly. Check the prices on a new maruzen assembly.
Now, if you can't readily envision a Maruzen hopup assembly.... don't buy the gun. Get an AEG instead. Chances are, you aren't ready to snipe, IE wait several hours with an absurdly expensive rifle, buy (comaparatively) expensive ammo, get all the gear you need, and get maybe 2 kills a game. If you want to "snipe," get a JG BAR-10, and save up for a better rifle.
Next time, please search, and since I know the forum search function kinda sucks, go through the newbie and spring/gas parts of this forum, you'll find real help there.

First of all I have read the other posts, and i didn't ask anything about the maruzen l96, but I still have one question. Yes, I know that the Maruzen is much higher quality than the UTG and Well, but I don't have a lot of money, and can't afford the Maruzen. I've seen the websites such as den trinity shop that have the upgrade parts, and i don't see why you couldn't just upgrade the internals. It dosen't make sense to me that i should pay over three hundred dollars for a gun that needs to be upgraded anyways. Isn't it possible to just upgrade almost the entire internals of a clone l96 and get a better performing gun for the same price of the stock maruzen l96?
Also I would still like to know whether the Warrior, Well, and UTG l96 are the same gun or not.

They are the same, UTG just rebrands well guns, so yes, they are the same. Even though you plan on extensively modifying the gun, it will just cause more headaches because even more parts will need to be replaced because they are just so cheaply made. I am no Sniper rifle expert but I have been around to see this same discussion a few times, UTG/Well whatever you want to call it, They use Cement blocks to weigh down their guns, Maruzen doesn't, they have extremely high quality exteriors and do not need any cement or metal to weigh it down to make it feel less cheap. Like everything in airsoft, you get what you pay for. If you cheap out on a base gun, you could end up having extensive external damage that you would not with the Maruzen shell would take in an equally fit circumstance. Besides, you should not trust anything a retail store says, They may say that it is Maruzen compatible, but in reality it isn't, so, just buy the Maruzen, you will have absolutely no regrets that you would with a Well or UTG. It is your decision from here, do what you want, I just gave you my 2 cents.

I'm under the impression that they are the same, though I could be wrong. If you're planning on upgrading it anyway, the only reason to get the Maruzen is for namesake and body quality/finish.
I was plinking around with my affectionately named lol96 today, and the bolt sort of stopped working, it pulls out fine, but I have to jam it back in in order to fire. I haven't taken it apart to look and see what's wrong, but then again, I just don't care about it. Just another precaution for getting one I guess.
edit: Whatever the problem was, it fixed itself, still, I would recommend the Maruzen over any clone for the quality of the exterior/parts that are hard to find aftermarket replacements for.

Your title says WELL but your post says UTG, which one is it?
In either case, I highly doubt they are the same weapon. CYMA acquired WELL a few years back so if any of those guns are made by CYMA then they're compatible with WELL

No, upgrading a UTG is not the same as upgrading a Maruzen. You don't have to get an attitude, these people know what they are talking about. Not to mention, if you don't have much money, being a DM isn't the job for you.

It sounds like your mind is already made up on the matter, so just do it. And when the inevitable breakage happens, come back and read all of the threads again.

Tell ya what if you want a UTG L96 PM me and we'll talk.
However let it be known that they speak the truth. I like my UTG/WELL L96, but it's been good for nothing but plinking, pure and simple plinking nothing more.
I've had the privilege to watch/run alongside some of the best Michigan snipers (if one really can use that title) and there is nothing compared to the real deal. I've run alongside kiddies with their UTG/WELL/whatever clone sniper rifles and there just is no comparison.

This is when i just don't understand newer players and young kids.
If you can afford to save up $200 more dollars for a Maruzen then you cant afford the Upgrades for your UTG. You'll end up paying and putting the exact same amount of money into the UTG, and it will be a worse gun.
Seriously if it means you have to wait a while for the Maruzen do so. You'll thank us all. and when you are waiting you can compile a list of what you need to be an affective sniper, and what you need and what you don't need to be affective on the field.
You cant just buy a sniper rifle, no matter what the brand. And think that you can go out to a game that weekend, and work effectively with people that have been playing the position longer than you.
(Blag edit- You don't buy Snipers, you buy Sniper Rifles)
