Had a great time yesterday. Overall went pretty good. Downtime seems to be standard at most games. The only thing that really bothered me was the non-SFOD refs/photographers that were calling out our positions. Me and couple of other woodland guys were stalking up on the hill heading toward D-day. I took one guy out and I see this ref/photographer pointing at me telling the other tans where we were at. That's not cool. I wish I had an immortal spotter standing up telling me what he was seeing. It wasn't a huge deal, just disappointing. Can't wait for the next game.

Great game, I had a really good time. The only problems I saw were 1) like everyone is saying, too much down time, and 2) sometimes refs looked a bit hostile. This only happened a few times, but especially in the 300 game I would look into a building, see someone crouched with a gun, popping up now and then, with no red rag or vest, so I would shoot and they would yell back "I'm a ref, I'm a ref, stop shooting!". I don't have a problem with armed refs; heck, if I was a ref I'd want a weapon on me too, but sometimes it just confuses the situation when there is no way to tell they are refs without simply remembering faces, if you can even get a good look at them.
I don't mean to complain, I just wanted to present the issue. Again, everything was wonderful, I love this field more and more every time I come to play. On a side note, I live over near Hadley, which is just like 10-15 minutes away, so if you guys ever want another hand in building up the field or anything I'd be happy to contribute.

Well Namelessblob42 to give you more incite as for the not understanding who is a ref. We are working on getting something that more identifies us as refs with all having blue hats giving us the look as UN, along with having the blue hat there showing that we are refs. We hope to have this all fixed by the next S.F.O.D. game.

So if we are to not talk about it here, then where should be talk about it because my friend was literally point blanked on the arms. When it came down to it you guys did nothing about it at all and let it slide. Poor control of the situation if you ask me.

I know the whole "delay thing" has been brought up a few times in this post. I just wanted to throw this out there. I've seen at a few other events..... Set a schedule and (try to) stick to it. If chrono starts at 10:30, people better be lined up. Set times for each event to start... depending on the game. I think even a tentative schedule for each game would help out w/ "down time". Aside from that, yet another great time out at SFOD and my brother (his first time out) agrees 100% and was extremely happy at how friendly and helpful everyone was.

There will always be people not calling hits and there will always be point blank shots. Shit happens in the heat of the moment, the sooner you get over it and keep playing is the sooner you will enjoy the game.

Ya I know there will be. But when you tell a player more than once and they keep doing it, it gets a bit ridiculous. Especially when the kid is like nine years old and thinks body armor protects him? I have nothing else to say

Here's the deal: It was brought to our attention multiple times, ALL DAY LONG. Personally, I had over 20 complaints on the matter throughout the day. We kept and eye on them as best we could, and to my knowledge, Corey talked to them several times throughout the day. I know it is SFOD's responsibility to deal with problems, and we do it best we can. The problem with this matter is, that it was too far out of our control and we could onyl do soo much about it since they A: didn't seem to want to listen to anyoen but us, and B: were guests of Corey's father. We can only do soo much, and there are things that go on that do restrict us behind the scenes that the world does not, and will not ever know about. I am not at liberty to discuss it, as it pertains to Corey's father. So I ask that it just be let go. It will not happen again. If you feel the need to discuss those individuals, and you all know who I'm talking about, send me or Bonesaw a PM, and we'll be happy to listen and discuss it. But, please, don't do it here. It turned into a matter that we could realy do nothing about in the long run. We've never had this type of situation before, and Corey is dealing with it on his end of things to ensure that it doesnt happen again.
Again, Me, Grey Fox, Warpig, Bonesaw, and rest of SFOD are very sorry for the mess that this turned into.
Now that that's taken care of, onto better things. The down time..? I didn't think there was a whole lot of that until after lunch. I will admit, our scenario was not the best one we've had. But, sometimes ya gotta have one not soo good day to work out some bugs addn whatnot. Our track record, save this event and the incedent at Gold Rush, is more than credible, so don't let this one alter your opinion of SFOD for the rest of eternity. The 300 game was intense, right to the very end with BigC hiding in the brush outside of the police station cutting down the nooblets with the SAW. It was funny listening to the attcking team trying to find the last guy and thinking, "did we get 'em all?" and us dead 300 guys would just say, "Nope, ya got one more". C, I have no clue how you kept yer cool and stayed quiet, 'cuz it was funny as hell listening to all that chatter and they had no idea where you were, and they started looking in all the wrong places.
I'm sure you all noticed, so I'll explain this 'lil quirk in the city for ya'll. The newest building, the one with the catwalk from the embassy, was supposed to have a few windows both up stairs and down, BUT alas, our saw-zaw blade broke on us about 1 am Saturday night-hence the one peice of plywood on the front facing wall that has a cut about halfway across along the top, so we kinda got screwed one that one. we'll also be adding a ladder in the lower level of that building so you don't have to go through the Embassy to get up there.
