MILSIM: OP: Blind Fury 5 (9/6/08)

In 2007, the Tropico Army’s undefeated streak came to a sudden end. Coalition Forces, with the help of the militia, destabilized Tropico defenses and took control of New Tropicos capitol city. 2008 will tell us if the Coalition Forces can keep the momentum going or Tropicos will take back what is theirs.

Access, registration, costs and payments:
- Please email me at [e-mail] if you can't access AEV event pages or forums. If you don't tell us what is wrong, nothing we can do about it.
- Only players registered on the AEV roster will be accounted.
- I strongly recommend you to register in the forums if you want to stay updated with your team but also knowing all the event updates.
- The field fee is $45 per player for the full day and $5 extra for camping on Friday.
- First come, first served. Only paid players will be accounted.
- Please make individual payment and add the full name and callsign in the comment box.

General details:
The event will be fought on 3 fronts: Western, Eastern and Civilians. Before you register, read the following;

- Western Forces (OD based) are the incoming forces. They are the "Allies" from Blind Fury 4 and due to their success, secured the airfield, which is where they will start.
- Eastern Forces (Tan based) are the country dictators. While they did not technically win BF4, they were strong enough to withhold their assets, which give them the full East Field, which give them control of Brown Town, Emerald city and the refinery.
- The civilian have been forced out of Brown town. They found refuge somewhere else and are slowly building their own village. Militia are still roving around. For BF5, the civilian will not flip allegeance as they are used to. They will have specific missions/tasks to accomplish also.

All rules and other details are already in the event system on AEV so head over there and read everything.

WARNING: There will be no expections for MAGAZINE capacity. HIGH CAP will only be authorized on Support weapons and you have plenty of time to acquire regular or midcap magazine for your gun.


Without giving away too many details, here are a few of the rules.

- HIGH CAPS will not be allowed for this event.
- A mix of medic and respawn will be used.
- Be ready to do recon/search/recovery.
- Be ready to carry equipment/players.
- Radio will be a must.
- 14 years old and up. Players below 18 will need to be vouched.
- Camouflage will be divided between OD and TAN based patterns (about 12 different patterns total).
- Role players will be needed. Keep in mind they might have to trade trigger time for some more "civil" duties.
- Price penalty for late registration.

25ft 400fps to 449fps
50ft 450fps to 499fps
75ft 500 fps to 549fps
125ft 550 fps and up

FPS Limits
0 - 400 All Aegs
0 - 450 All support weapons
0 - 500 Semi auto weapons (full auto permanently disabled)
0 - 600 Bolt Action only (reserved to 18yrs+)

Goggles:
All person in the playing zone need to wear Goggle or paintball mask with a minimum rating of ANSI 87.1 2003 The Mask/Goggle needs to be sealed against your face so no bbs can get in. It must be a rigid lens (i.e. no ski goggles allowed). Shooting/ Hardware glasses are not allowed. Mesh goggles not allowed.

The event will be held from 9am to 6pm and will be played on both West and/or East side. The field consists of hills, creeks, valley and buildings. We also have a landing strip now

Waiver will be needed for all players. There will be one to be filled for the field itself and another one for the event. The last one will need to be notarized if you are below 18yrs old by the date of the event.

Gentlemen, Finally, here is the update you have all been waiting for!!! ()
We got our last meeting done last night and everything is now set in stone. As we want to keep the tradition rolling, most of the real details will be handled via private forums and player kits. Although, many important details can be given right away.

Last year event showed us that the Tropicos were beatable. they have been strong for so many years, everyone thought it would take a miracle to make them fall but they were wrong. At the end of Blind Fury 4, the Tropicos were on the edge of collapsing. The Kreigers allies finally got enough power to step in the country and have a stronger influence on everything. Unfortunately for them, the alliance council pushed them away as no one believed they could handle the future conflicts and position in the country. Kreigers are no more and a new joint group called the "Western Forces" are now in place. They took control of the airport and also have support of the civilian and militia...so far. On the tropicos side, the newest generation of leader decided to do a clean up within their ranks and got rid of their past Tropicos history. Being locked up in the far East side of the country, they are simply going by the name of the Eastern Forces now.

The Western Forces is now led by a 45 years old army veteran going by the name "General Hardlock". Great tactician and experienced combatant, he definitely knows what must be done to finally take control of the country. He has all the tools and allies to make it happen at least. His stable alliance with the civilian should help him to infiltrate the territories.

The Eastern Forces is now controlled by a arrogant and inopportune young leader going by the name of "Blade". He gained access to the highest army rank by hammering down all the old and obsolete generals and mentalities. No one really like him but he gets the job done. His main motto is "get it done or get the hell out". I would not be surprised if he ends up assassinated.

Event Time Frame:
Registration: June 1st - July 26th.
Late registration: July 26th to August 15th -> 10$ penalty
Forum access: July 26th and up. You must register in the www.airsoftevents.com forums to gain access.
Event day: September 6th with early registration on Friday (5$ camping fee might apply)

Event Schedule:
Fri 1700 - 1900: Early Registration.
Sat 0700 - 0900: Registration.
Sat 0900 - 0915: Safety Briefing.
Sat 0916 - 1000: Deployment and last minute team briefings.
Sat 1001 - 1800: Game Time (lunch time will be given by commanders).
Sat 1801 - : Checkout and cleanup.

After few years of trial and errors, we decided to move away from raffle or at least, making it very short and sweet. Being a major headache every years, we just think it is time to see players coming to the event because they will have a great time rather than coming just because they might win something. If you guys were in for the raffle, we are sorry to be disappointing. If by any miracle, we decide to raffle something, it will be VERY limited. So shortly said, no need to bring your camp chair.

We are still planning to offer event Tshirt but we did not set the logo and text yet and don't know the final cost. More details should be available within the coming weeks.

For all of those looking for a great MilSim event and a great day of playing, I suggest that you make it to this. All of the events Team Strikers hold so far at Springfield have been awsome. Blind Fury 4 last year was incredible and this year Blind Fury 5 should be even better!

Hah would it count if I turned 14 on that exact day? Plus if I do go what do the fps restriction mean? my guns are 300 fps I have a Crossman Pulse R72 with a 375 rd clip and a Well Mp5 with a 200 rd clip would those work? Also do you have to have your own camoflauge?

Come to a smaller game in Michigan first, like the next game at No Limits if you're in the area, and you'll see exactly what theactionman means. Take a look at what kind of guns and gear most players are carrying, and look at how they play the game. If you're paying attention, you should pick up the differences pretty quick.

Also, to piggy-back on Zorak's comments, this is your first warning for using bad grammar. We type in English on this forum, and if you want to stick around, you'll do the same.

Judging by tylr's prior conduct on MiA, he's probably not ready as a player to maintain the kind of game play necessary for an event like Blind Fury. He should get there, maybe even in time for this game. But as it stands right now, he needs to come out to some local games to figure out what airsoft is all about.

Not to be harsh, but no I dont think you are ready for this. The Blind Fury games in contrast to Michigan Ops are 2 completley different things. Those who attend Blind Fury and other events in Springfield attend because its very MilSim (Military Simulation) oriented, where's Michigan's games are more Recreational and loosley based MilSim Games. When you go down to Springfield, you need to understand that people take MilSim VERY and I cant stress this enough, VERY seriously. You have people who get into this who have been in Combat and have been oversea's and they treat this like the real deal. You have guys who spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars in guns, and gear and they dont like it when some kid comes out and think's he's Rambo. It doesnt work that way there.

Another thing you also need to realize is that these events, for those who are under age, need a voucher from experienced players who attended past events and are mature. So if I were you, I would look on Airsoft Ohio, and in particular the Operation 211 games that the Strikers hold in Springfield. These events are to get players involved in a Semi MilSim Game, and let them get used to what MilSim is like. Its also a good place to talk to the Older, more experienced guys and to get noticed. Trust me, if you can impress the older guys, you wont have much of a problem getting a voucher for any upcoming events.

As I said before, just wait until next summer before you attend a Blind Fury event. Get some experience, get some better AEG's and Gear and learn to work in teams and understand command structer. Because if you are not serious about being there and understanding what needs to be done, and learning to take orders, your gonna take a lot of shit from the more experienced players. I seen it happen at the last Blind Fury event when some kid thought he was the top shit player at the event, and he really took a mouthfull from some of the older guys.

On top of that, the Mags (NOT CLIPS) you have for your rifles will not be acceptable for Blind Fury 5. They need to be Low, Standard or Mid Caps only, the ones you said you have are not allowed at the event. As far as FPS for your Rifles go, I would suggest that you keep them under 400 FPS since you are under 18, so the ones you listed will get you in, but I would suggested getting something better, like an Echo 1 or a CA Sportline. And yes, you will also need Camo, unless you plan to be a Role Player. If you check out Airsoft Events you will see what Camo is and is not allowed. I hope this helps, and I hope I didnt offend you.

I know you guys are trying to help but some of you are coming of a bit harsh instead of trying to help and understand i'm just a beginner. All I want to do is get out there and expierience some airsoft the way it should be played.

Just because youre new to this means your not ready, unless you were in the armed forces or a cop (which since youre turning 14 the day of the event, Im guesing not) These events are not meant for people who havent been playing for a few years.

Trust me dude, look around Airsoft Ohio at the Op 211 Series that the Strikers host. Your old enough, your weapons will be *decent* for the event, and it teaches you what you need to know, and you'll get the feel for it. And its a great way to get used to the field. Hidden Spring Ranch is just a massive field and I myself am still getting used to the field and I been there 5 times. But none of us are trying to be harsh, but by the time next year roles around and you are still involved in this, and your serious about it, then sign up and I grant you, the older guys will give you more respect then they would if you just went out there this year with little / no experience. Just give it time man, when you get there come next year, you will definatley have a blast.
