What is the current opinion of grenades that expel a powder instead of bbs? You know you're hit because of the powder, which is then easily dusted away.

Powder is not easily dusted away, just ask Roughneck..

Hmmm. How hard is it to get it off? Can it be washed off? I'm curious because it seems to be, at face value, an easier solution than trying to launch bbs in every direction with any power.

Powder is not easily dusted away, just ask Roughneck.. I'm always gonna feel bad about that..I have nothing else to say. I still think my grenades work the best. They were a lot of fun to use at the factory game on Saturday. Isn't this thread geared more towards the method of deploying/throwing grenades rather than the individual types though?

So ultimately, are powder grenades allowed?

Get the permission of the event host and go from there.

Yes, but I would be pissed if I was covered in powder after you threw one at me.

Ya, I would be too. Especially if it got into the internals of my gun and caused a catastrophic failure. But anyways....I would much rather have bb''s hurled at me then powder shot at me.
Are we talking about hand grenades or land mines here?

Having witnessed, tested, and been on the receiving end of one, I honestly think the freeze-dried pea grenades are the best solution for frag in airsoft. They WORKED, they didn't need need to be recovered, they didn't hit harder than most stock TM AEG's (having one go off in the near-proximity of my head) and they were impressive to boot.

Tell me more about these freeze dried pea grenades. The only ones I know of are firecracker powered, which are illegal here, maybe there are other kinds? I'd like very much to use freeze dried peas to keep the cost down.

These were them. About sourcing freeze dried peas, I dunno where you'd go about getting peas for your tornados.

I would be interested in making something like that, if I could use some low power fire crackers, but I know they will probably not be allowed. Correct me if I am wrong.

They were green-lighted over at DFII at Ransomville. Super effective at doing everything from clearing rooms to clearing roofs to getting guys that you don't have a direct line of fire on.

How was it built, and would it be allowed at standard rec. games?

How was it built, and would it be allowed at standard rec. games? That's entirely depended on the field. For example, I know No Limits won't allow it because the paintball field doesn't allow any pyrotechnics, even cold smoke grenades. However, I know cqbr has used easter egg grenades at SFOD games.
