Yes, night event, just night time. Maybe into dawn, but game play would start at full dark. This would be a smaller event, with 30-45 players. The players would be split into 2 teams, Alpha and Bravo, there would be no camo restrictions and teams would be designated by either, blue and red arm bands, or nothing at all but voice communication.
The Alpha team would be outnumbered 2 to 1 and would be inserted into the field first, a good 20 minutes before the Bravo team. Depending on how many individuals attend, there would be a certain number of items on the field, like a .50 cal ammo box, or other various items of interest. The Alpha team is informed of the location of all the items on the field and may set up ambushes as so desired.
The Bravo team is given the location of 1 item via a topographical map and radio intel. They must navigate through the dark toward the item of interest while avoiding ambush along the way. If they reach and secure the item, they are then informed of the location of a 2nd item and must proceed there.
The trick here is that Alpha team does not know where the Bravo team is headed first, so they are forced to either split up their forces equally, or strategically ambush them at different point on the field.
The ambushing team would receive no respawns or medic heals, while the attacking team is allowed 1 medic heal per person.
Upon the completion of one game (could be extremely fast, or rather long), a new one with altered teams would be established. If a game is taking forever to finish, those who have been eliminated and are sitting out will be inserted as a 3rd team whom has the same objectives as the Bravo team.
I'd like to thank BigC for the idea on this, I think it would actually function well as a day event but will have a particularly better, and more intense feel to it as a night game. Cost would be cheap, $10 to $15 at most, to cover cost of field usage, the profits going towards Tiki Torches to light up certain areas on the field.
If I get 30 people to confirm that they would attend this sort of OP, (it will be in SW Mich) I will contact the field owner I have in mind and set aside a night for this. Let me know here if you are interested.
