Wow. That was actually a decent necropost, in that it actually related and added something to the argument.
However, your idea has a problem. It would be horrendously difficult to keep track of what kids should be allowed to 18+ events and which ones shouldn't. To be fair, most of the games in MI allow kids under 18 to play. It was only once some people put the idea of adult-only games did the minors start to whine about not being allowed to play. Honestly, the majority of the games out there will still be not limited to just 18 and up. If us old farts (I'm 22, fwiw) want a game where we don't have to worry about little Jimmy who's 14 hearing my joke involving a phallus in some manner, then let us have it.

Ok i feel like it is my duty here to stand up for us younger players. Not all of us want to own a airsoft gun because we want to be cool, some of us, like myself, really want to get the full on millitary experiance. I mean yes we seem cheap, but that is cause we don't have an income, we don't have a source to make money. I actually am about to have a job in then next few months so i might be one of the few kids with a decent gun. I have played with kids before my age and they owned TM's and really nice guns. The maturity issue, i know some players aren't very mature, and i will admit i have my moments. But some people that are younger have the same maturity as people who are in there 20s. Its not really fair to call us all immature unless you really know us.

After I fixed your broken post, I felt the need to say this; Not all of us adults act like adults, but we all get let into games. We don't have the manpower to single out the goodies among the younger crowd so we just do what we have the manpower to do. This however belongs in the age limit discussion and shouldn't be discussed here.

Wow, nvm. I am clearly retarded. I thought I was reading the Newbie section or something, my fault.
Edit: The rest of my post still stands.

Honestly, the whole subject is a waste of bandwidth anyhow.
We play in games constantly with the younger guys, so stop bitching. If you're not old enough to go the the games, suck it up and wait or PM the event host and ask them to make an exception.
If the game is strictly 18+, shut the fuck up and move on. Yes, a lot of members would like to play with an older crowd, no offense to the young guys... But, it's just a thing we'd like to do to make the military aspect a little more realistic.
Imagine it were the other way around and you younger guys were whining that you don't want us older guys to come to your games for whatever reason, do you think we'd piss and moan about it?? Fuck no... we'd be too busy tapping your moms.
Just let it go.

Good one crazyman, but i believe that the age limit should stand no matter what. 18+ is 18+, I just don't want to be playing with a 13 year old with a box mag on his M4 and not call hits, even though I am still one of the younger players I understand rules are rules, and if you are going to bitch about it so be it, but, think about what you are crying about, it isn't like you won't ever be old enough to go to a milsim game. Man up or shut up.

Hey guys just thought id throw this out there but i am 15. And i would love to enjoy a good milsim but all of them are 18+. But as DevilDog said it only costs like 20 dollars extra to allow 14+ to play. If it would allow us under 18 to play i wouldn't mind paying an extra 5 or 10 dollars to cover our insurance costs. Just an idea though. feedback?

Just an idea though. feedback? First off... nice necro. Not too bad, but oh well.. Anyways, I haven't read this entire thread, but I don't think it's usually the money for insurance that stops people from letting under 18 in. I think it's a problem of immaturity. If it's a Mil-Sim game, there definitely needs to be a level of maturity. You can't have a 13 year old kid with a box mag on his m4 not calling hits (yeah, I stole that from somebody else who posted...I think it was Tollis). Some Mil-Sim 18+ games WILL allow younger kids in, but ONLY if they have a good reputation or can get somebody respectable to vouch for them. That's what us Hellfish are doing for Op: No Vacancy. We're trying to make it as 18+ as we can, but we understand some people like Lil 'Stang have the maturity level to play in it without any problems (plus he usually sticks around with his dad, and his dad's a great guy, so no issues there). If it was simply a matter of an extra $5-10 for insurance reasons, then you're idea could work. But the problem is that I believe most people who run Mil-Sim games simply don't want younger kids to possibly ruin the experience. So, sorry man, you're just going to have to wait until your 18.

Yeah i guess so haha youve got good points too though This is what the mods. here will want your previous post to look like: Yeah I guess so..Haha. You've got good points too though. On Topic: Kiki got everything right. I believe Tex said his event is going to be a Mil-Sim game with no age restrictions. For all the under 18 players, this is your chance to prove yourselves to the MiA Mil-Sim community as responsible and trustworthy players...

Keep in mind though, if you screw around at this game or are caught cheating you will give a bad name to everyone under 18. I for one hope that you guys help each other out.

But I'm not one to cheat in a game of airsoft I think it's kind of unnecessary and pointless especially if it screws up milsims for everyone under 18.

Truthfully, I think the biggest reason most of us are looked down upon is the inablility of some to type out gramatically and punctually correct posts. If we all were to appear to have some professionalism, I'm sure the older guys would give us more respect, and maybe even give us a shot at an 18+ milsim. But until that happens, we will be stuck in the pit of disrespect dug by l33T sAw GunnR.
