nevermind, guys...talked to my dealer. the claw mount uses a 1 inch weaver-style mounting. so just pop over to your local gun store...or to meijer...or dunhams...and then buy a cheapie scope... so that's what i'm off to do in the next few days. well...just letting you guys know... Bigmack

Mmmmmm SG1 with scope, I can't wait to see that thing. That's one of the guns I plan on owning one day so it's going to be a real treat seeing it at [glow=red,2,300]OPERATION: IRONCLADS[/glow] need pictures! *whip*

Me too! I was thinking about it last night, and wondered how big/tall etc. Bigmack is. The G3/SG1 is a really really big gun. Hope he's not as skinny as me! ;D

I have nothing else to say. i'm a pretty bug guy... 6'5", 280. big hands, too...i'm comfortable firing the G3 with one hand, and my beretta with the other...I have nothing else to say. Big ole me is pretty intimidating in his tactical gear...of course...i'm just that much larger of a target... I have nothing else to say ;D but just try to remember that...as i'm in the treeline....pumping full auto bursts in your direction... Anyways...that's me. Bigmack.

Hey there BigMack - Might want to look at the HurricanE or First G3/SG1 mounts. Both known for staying on the gun, whereas the "quick connect" claw mount is known for making its own decisions on when & where it unmounts ;D I'll be checking out both for keeping my 3-9x40 BEC scope onboard, and the lesser of the two goes on the MP5 to hold a 42mm red dot. Drop me a line if you want the results of my testing. So there will be two of us sniping with G3/SG1's in the MI area? I'll be trading the spring out on mine, going from M130 to M150 (basically swapping with my SR16 M4 which is waaay to hot right now, unless I'm sniping with it, but it's high ROF and extras are wasted IMO just sniping with it). By the way, one of the common rules of airsoft snipers is to maintain the use of semi-auto rather than full auto. That's how we get away with the heavier springs......hehehe......OUCH! Can't miss me out in the field either. I'm the other large human lookin' back at ya' thru a scope. Funny how the big guys go for the static styles of play

Argh@upgraded springs! ;D None of the 5 people who were at Op: First Contact had upgraded springs, so I'm worried about Jackstraw and Bigmack and their big bad upgraded guns! Hopefully they'll be put on opposite teams, seeing as they will dominate range-wise. Oh wells....

mine's stock...just got it about a week ago... Havn't had the chance to upgrade the mechbox, gears, bushings, or spring... I think i'll be leaving it stock, too... I'd rather have a mid-range sniper weapin with an assault capability....over a dedicated sniping platform... i want my ROF.

one of the nice things about guns is that you dont have to be really big to use one, not like in the old days when you had to have the strength to swing a sword through their armor =).
I had a kinda wierd experience in one of my games because i was lying on the ground in a sorta no mans land. anyway i was in a crossfire between my team and one of their guys who didnt know i was there (kinda late, almost no light). Anyway as i was lying there his gun didnt have the range to hit my team and he was firing in a big arc, so i was getting hit by bbs falling from above, with about the same velocity as if he was throwing them at me. The only way i could tell was because his tracer was lightin up those rounds as they floated down around me =). Anybody got one of those? I think it might be cool but i would only mix some glowing bbs in with my normal ones. I think firing a tracer every shot gives away your position way too well.

Don't be intiminated by high-powered AEG's with scopes. Remember it takes just as many hits as it does to take them out as it does you. Plus campers usually never gets kills anyway.

Camping or sniping, call it what you will. Although I intend to spend most of my covert time doing recon and shooting only the best targets. Before you can get to me, you'll have to take out my spotter! BTW, the name "Ed" fits very nicely on a BB. Where would you like the first shot placed? ;D

Aww man! You got the easy name! You should try writing "Newman" on a bb. I was loopy enough to attempt such a crazy idea and while it did work.... the result wasn't pretty. Too bad I lost the bb before our 1st skirmish.
