If you are not checked in with your guns chronographed by 11:00 AM you will NOT be playing the first part of the game
Storyline:
June 1966, over South Vietnam.
“That’s twenty-seven.” Called a voice over the headset.
The C-130 piloted by Capt. Joe Brandenburg circled the low hills Northwest of Saigon for the twenty-seventh time that night. His aircraft was part of a squadron of specially fitted C-130’s taking part in Operation: Ranch Hand. A somewhat demeaning nickname that some top brass made up for the cycle of “defoliation” flights across South Vietnam. The infamous Ku Chi tunnels were east of his assigned flight, and there was nothing here. Of course, someone thought such “pacification” of empty jungle swamps was important, otherwise why would the US Air Force divert an entire field worth of cargo aircraft and group crew? Important to someone, but not to Capt. Brandenburg.
“That’s good enough. This shit’ll eat through concrete after twenty-seven passes.”
The name Ranch Hand was as demeaning as the work. Ground crews often came up with derogatory and infuriating nicknames for the squadron pilots. But boy, his squadron did have some bad pilots. He wasn’t a bad pilot of course, he just got unlucky. Right?
“Nah Joe. We’re supposed to do thirty passes. Besides, the Iron Triangle is a no fly zone ‘till 0600.” Called the voice again. Joe looked over at his co-pilot.
“There’s nothin’ down there I tell ya. B-52’s have been hammering this area for weeks. Charlie’s either blown to hell or ran back to the DMZ by now.” The co-pilot lifted off his mic set and looked across the cockpit.
“I donno Joe. I heard Saigon lost an A-1 over there just last week.”
“That’s just rumors. Don’t worry about it, it’ll be fine.”
The C-130 pulled out of its slow circle and angled toward the east. A heavy black silhouette against the moon lit predawn sky. Capt. Brandenburg flipped on the auto pilot settings and sunk back in his seat.
“Now we just sit back and chill.” The co-pilot laughed back nervously
The navigator called through the mic set, “Hey, someone put some tunes on.”
It was 0459 and radio Saigon was playing Nowhere to Run by Nelson and the Vendettas. No one heard the missile lock alarm.
Under a hole in the jungle canopy, next to a concealed tunnel entrance stood a group of three Viet Cong guerillas. One tossed a Russian made SA-7 missile launcher to his companion and whispered something in Vietnamese. They all looked up and watched as the black silhouette of an American plane burst into flame and fell from the sky.
Situational Briefing:
A C-130 cargo plane assisting in Operation: Ranch Hand was shot down earlier this morning in the vicinity of Cu Chi. The mission is simple. US Marines will conduct a force recon of the hills around the crash site and eliminate any enemy presence. Primary objectives first and foremost, are to locate the crash site and destroy any sensitive information, as well as any scattered throughout the area. The flight that was shot down was testing new types of defoliant, and the American commander, General Westmoreland, wants to keep the project quiet. A private reporter team has been sighted in the area under the protection of a Thai contractor group known as 'The Queen's Cobras". The crash site and any sensitive information must NOT be photographed. It is NOT the responsibilty of US forces to ensure the safety of these civilians. There are eight different experimental defoliant agents, all represented by a different colored canister. The different agents are: Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet and Black. Retrieve all eight of these at all costs. Additionally, search the surrounding hills for any surviving crew members.
U.S. Marine Objectives:
1. Locate the crash site of the C-130 and destroy any sensitive information
2. Retrieve the ‘rainbow defoliant’ canisters and transport them to the extraction zone
3. Check emergency frequencies and locate any surviving crew
4. Search the suspected missiles sites and destroy any weapons cashes
5. Search the local villages for the Cu Chi tunnel system
Viet Cong Objectives:
1. Search the American crash site and find the radio coding book
2. Find defoliant canisters and keep them from American hands
3. Track down and capture any survivors from the crash
4. Protect the missile sites from enemy attack
5. Keep the tunnel system entrances hidden at all costs
Forces in Play and Uniform:
U.S. Marines: OD BDU, Woodland BDU, ACU, MARPAT, Tiger Stripe
Viet Cong: Khaki BDU, Desert BDU, Black BDU, Urban BDU, Civilian
Ammunition and FPS Regulations:
Standard Rifles and Submachine Guns
- 420 FPS limit
- 800 rounds in any configuration. Loose BB’s are not permitted
SAW's and Support Weapons
- 420 FPS limit
- 2500 rounds in any configuration. Loose BB’s are allowed
Sniper Rifles
- 550 FPS limit
- 200 rounds in any configuration. Loose BB’s are not permitted
Engagement Limits for all Weapons
1.0 - 350.9 fps - Arms length engagement limit
351.0 - 419.9 fps - 20 foot engagement limit
420.0 - 550.9 fps – 50 foot engagement limit, bolt action or permanent* semi-auto replicas only
551.0+ fps - Prohibited or allowed with permission of event organizer only
*Permanent semi-auto refers to replicas that do not have full-auto fire capability, no matter how the selector switch or other user input device is manipulated.
General Information:
- All players must sign a waiver or have one on file before playing
- All minors must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian

- Running water and electricity available on site.
- BB's, Green Gas, Batteries, and drinks will be for sale on site.
- Visitors or parents will be admitted for free.
- Violation of rules or regulations set down on the field is grounds for removal from game without refund.
