i know this doesn't help much for tomorrow, but I can probably score some of those nifty green sandbags from work or one of the local units. Let me know if you want me to get them.
Sorry to hear bout your cars Minky and Viking.
Wish I could make it to an event so I can meet and play with you guys!

Well good and bad news. Good news is that the airsoft today was fun, was great to meet the new guys. Bad news is: * Takes big breath *
Apparently the person I spoke to about using the land that we use was not the authentic owner. It turns out who ever I spoke to that day gave us permissions that he couldn’t give. Evelyn (not the owner but a neighbor – the person I was under the impression owned the lot) said it was actually owned by a family on the other side of the lot. She basically just asked if we could move our playing field a little bit away from her deer hunting area, she bow hunts.
After talking to her, it seems that she has an idea who gave me the false information and has had some type of problems with him before.
She didn’t mind us still playing there she was only concerned about here small patch of apple trees that she hunts in, thankfully for her we never play there anyway so her hunting should go unhindered.
When I learned that she was not indeed the owner of the land I decided to end the game. While we could have kept playing we would had no business playing on land we didn’t have permission to play on.
The months of Oct, Nov, Dec and Jan are going to be very difficult for us to find places to play (MiA as a whole). Even earlier today we had two hunters scouting the area wonder into one of our games, luckily the game was over and we spotted them before anyone was fired upon. These months are extremely hazardous times to play, and I think that our games should be restricted to paintball field hosted games.
While some of us may have our own land and what not it most likely they border lands that people hunt on, and we should respect that. If we respect the hunters and their hobby they will most likely respect ours.
After the raid in Detroit Hado mentioned having signed documents from landowners about having games on their land. I think this should be a requirement for games to be listed here. The document should have basic information that needs to be filled out and a place for a signature. While its not necessarily MiA’s fault if Billy Bob goes to a game listed at MiA and they get raided, shot, etc MiA is the location that directed them to the game and on a moral standard a little responsible. This document while not excludeing MiA from fault would at least force us to take the next step to make sure our games are safe and we are playing where we are allowed to play.
Semtex woodland training facility – CLOSED until further notice.

Excellent point Viking! I never thought about the land thing (or at least land that borders mine) before. We play a lot on State Land which generally requires no permission to use. Do you have any suggestions that may help out there? I'm not sure if I should bother the DNR or not. Also, do you have an idea of what else you may want in the landowner agreement? I think you are on to something that should be explored further.

Excellent games yesterday everyone, I had a really fun time. As always, it was great to meet some new players and have a chance to shoot them. It's too bad about the property, but as Viking said we can't be there if we don't truly have permission. DevilDog: You probably should contact the DNR or talk to JackStraw from the forums here. At the start of this year he was involved in planning a big event up in Traverse City and was planning to play on State land. If I remember correctly, when he contacted the DNR they told him that they won't allow airsoft to be played on state land, since they also don't allow paintball. It might be different in your area, but as they say, better safe than sorry.

Thanks Minky!! I'll give them a call this week. We generally use my land and some state land for our games. If the state turns into Nazi's, we can always move!!

We (Myself and my friend, Rob) had a lot of fun yesterday! Thanks for letting us come out there and fool around, Viking. I left before the whole land issue came up but Rob filled me in. The friend that I sold the M24 to might have land for us to play on out in Chelsea. His sister owns something like 15-20 acres of land, and would probably let us play on the land. I don't believe any of is used for hunting, as I don't believe her or her husband hunt. With adequate perimeter resources (AKA, a fence and some signs), we shouldn't have to worry about people walking on without a clue.
I'll ask him to talk to his sister ASAP, so we're not in this weird limbo without a field.

yeah i am getting more and more agitated with this whole land usae thing, why is it, that this month has been so bad for fields? i really wanted to play too, I havent ever played there yet . Oh well, I am still looking for our new home field which were watching out for th whole hunter thing. We are makng sure that there are no baoundaries that might be a hazard. We are also going to follow through with the contract of permission of usin the land with the owner. Heavenb forbid we ever find a frikinbg field! BUT, DON from north muskegon said that he might know of a place that we can build up and play so well haveto check that out. Well, we are going to have to keep our eyes peeled for new fields. Hopefully next season isnt this confusing and upsetting. BUT i still had a blast the few times i did play this year, Thanks to all o you who showed up and supported airsoft as a whole!! YOU ALL ROCK. and thank god this sport is staying semi underground!!!! Where ever airsoft goes, i will refuse to wear a flourescent motocross jearsy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I will hoefully play with you all soon!!!!! later, keep safe! derick and the muskegon airsoft network

Seriously, guys, I can help us find some fields - after playing at fallen angel I realized how much fun it would be to host an event and keep up a field. I know a lot of guys that "know some guys" and I could find us some good places to play. I'm really busy right now, but I'm seriously going to look into finiding a good place to have a permanent field that my friends and I can keep up. I live in an area that's still somewhat rural but it's illegal to hunt in - perfect place for airsoft skirmishes. Just to let you all know I'm looking into it and I'll let you know what I come up with. it's the least I can do to help contribute to the sport - looks like it's going to need all the help it can get. And whoever is in charge of the MIA forums is a Godsend - without them, there's really no way to communicate with the whole of MI airsofters. ;D Thnx a ton....MIA forum people...
