I totally agree with Munin, even during the day games, it was hard to tell wither someone was dead or not, especially when dead VC would just mosey on into the Marine HQ, it totally just killed the vibe of the game.
I think in order to pull off a successful night Op, there has to be key things addressed way before hand, kill rags must used with everyone(I know I did not have a kill rag, it got lost in the mess of gear in the back of Livonia's truck). I think for future night Ops, there should be some sort of system that you can identify people with, wither it be with chem lights or a simple click device, safety is key and I'm sure no one wants to get hurt.

I misunderstand how if your challenged by the other team, and they dont shoot/knife kill you first, how its stupid to shoot/knife kill them. This is exactly why everytime i challenged someone i had my gun at least aimed at them.

Some guy with a MG36 walked up the ridge to the Position right abouve the american base, we called out VC? He replied "Yeah" And then proceded to walk within 5-6 feet of us and then said "You're all dead. I cant shoot you from this range." Its that kind of stuff that really put a damper on the game for me.

From what it sounds like neither team can say theyre entirely innocent. So theres no point in continuing the conversation. Let people be dicks. You reap what you sew.

I think saying 'Let's not be dicks' is a worthwhile statement at this point but you're otherwise right.

Its that kind of stuff that really put a damper on the game for me. Don't put that on me man, I never once said I was VC and I had 8-10 close kills that night. When you asked if I was VC I was already within 5 feet of your group, and I never said "yeah." I said "Guess what, you're all dead." 2,500 rounds of continuous fire could have killed every one of you, but I get a little pissy when somebody hoses me from 10 ft away. In NC we would use chem lites at night, either to help the game play move a little faster by securing them to our heads, or by keeping them hidden until dead then we would hold them up to keep from getting shot. The attitudes that always come with airsoft games were at a minimum this time, which was great. The few things I saw were the random "I shot you in the face you cheating #$%^sucker!" when you damn well know you didn't get shot and the guy is 150 yards away. Same goes for the guys just wandering around the middle of the field with no kill rag or weapon above their head. Don't get pissy and start cussing us out because you are too stupid to hold your weapon above your head. Great first event for the season though, I had a pretty good time.

yup, I popped a red chem light during the night so I wouldn't get lit up as I walked back to base, I don't like to get shot at!

I misunderstand how if your challenged by the other team, and they dont shoot/knife kill you first, how its stupid to shoot/knife kill them. It's not, if they challenge you. But the point here is that people weren't challenged because they intentionally behaved in such a way as to give the impression that they were non-combatants. By walking non-chalantly into the other side's base in broad daylight or intentionally misidentifying themselves at night, people are taking advantage of other people's decency (i.e. wanting to avoid lighting up deaders or shooting people at close range at night) in order to "win." Remember that this was a Vietnam-themed MilSim game. Dead VC didn't walk under their own power into an American-held village. Similarly, most GI's knew about four words of Vietnamese ("didi mao" and "chieu hoi"), certainly not enough to fool a sentry. This is not paintball, and I don't think it's too much to ask for the organizers to want people to behave accordingly, especially when they go to all the trouble to set up props and scenarios for a themed event.

hey, we were sappers, we never in any way stated or intentionally looked like we were out, If they had asked I would have been honest and drew my weapon right there. and the second time I went in there I worked my ass of to sneak all the way in.

Sappers.... Alls I know is Im glad I was where I was when they attacked the first time. Me and someone else dodged into one of those buildings and I aimed at the door and was going to blow away anything that came into view!

I have to say my bonzi-charge at the village from the main access trail (carrying the flag and a whistle) was pretty damn cool. Knife kill on one guy and shot another guy in the head with my "shotgun"... =)
