Who are you? What are your credentials? Why should we support you to be the leader of something like this? In what ways are you a NPO? What are you donating the money that you will eventually charge "memberships" for?
You have free proboards forums, and a free website. Neither of which are impressive at all. What exactly is the deal here?

What are you donating the money that you will eventually charge "memberships" for? You have free proboards forums, and a free website. Neither of which are impressive at all. What exactly is the deal here? Here are my credentials. I am also a member of the 1st Special Forces Airsoft Operations Command. I am it's XO. We are Affiliated with C.A.O.C. and are in discussion of joining forces, as we have the same goals. I haven't asked anyone to support me as the leader of this organization. I founded it. I am it's sitting president. That's all there its to that. The American Airsoft Association is an association dedicated to airsoft. It is an NPO in that no officer or member of the board may take a percentage of the money as compensation for their time. Officers may, under law, be offered a salary. Our officers, however work for free. The membership dues go to the running of the organization, and it's events. All money goes to supplies such as Membership Certificates, Photo IDs, supplies for events ( 1st will be one in April), Patches and T-shirts. Currently, everything for this organization is coming out of my own pocket. I would appreciate a little latitude here. I am sorry that you aren't impressed by our website or forum. Once more funds become available, a paid, hosted site will be built. In the meantime, we do with what we have. Sincerely, Patrick Scott (Founder/President) American Airsoft Association andXO, Colonel, SFA Operations Command HQ

The link to your credentials is flawed. I would like to see your military credentials. But just because you HAVE the credentials doesnt mean you the right one for the job. We have plenty of members here that have a military background.
The sight and its affiliates sites are unimpressive. By the members and even the design are unimpressive. I guess Ill just stand by the side and see how this goes.

I'd hate to join in the flaming but it seems that you as well as your sponsor are from the south, if we were to join how could we be garenteed that our $25 wouldn't go to some fancy web site and field stuff for your team? Why do we really need photo ID's and tee shirts when we could buy bb's? I see no way that giving $25 would benifit those here in Michigan, even if you did sponsor a op. The fields and ops here cost around $20 to play in and we know that the $20 is mostly spent to benifit the community here, not another part of the country we do not play in. Great idea to unite the airsoft communities, but when you start charging membership and saying you will host events I think this thing will just go up in smoke. (If anything is spelled wrong please correct me, the spell check isn't working for some reason )

Well, boys, join if you want. Don't if you don't. Nobody's twisting any arms here.

Scott. He was actually part of our team for a while, I am a bit confused as to why everyone is so defensive. I and most of my team are now part of this organization. I mean seriously, it isn't even like he just popped up and said "give me money to join this organization!!" he is offering the first year for free, it's not like you are contractually bound to stay a member if you do not like it. my $.02

Your right, it is our choice to join and I am sorry if I came off as rude or defensive. But I think my point was and still sort of is, why should we join this when we can get the same thing locally? Other than these little things like tee shirts and ID's, what do you really have to offer the local airsofter?

Well I can tell you that I did sign up for membership and have offered to be a POC here in the state of Michigan for this organization. It does not cost you anything to join for the first yr.

A domain and website is extremely affordable... less than a tank of gas. If the funds go towards events, well, in essence, that means it's going into your pocket, because you will be retaining a higher percentage of peoples entrance fee to go towards certain things.
After reading an email from this guy and his numerous spelling errors I just have to laugh. Nice try, ripping off airsoft players, it's cute. You want your "NPO" to be successful? Make it free and accept donations. Use google ads to promote revenue, it's simple really. But as of now, this is quite sketchy. And looks like someone with out a smidget of website knowledge put it together.

That is Airsoft Forums and it is an extremely high volume server with a lot of goodies on it. And google ads + sponsors covers one of his servers (they really have a bunch of useless stuff on there that 90% of members never use and should just downgrade to 1 server).
A3 is a basic website with nothing on it, and no traffic. It would cost roughly $10-20 to get it started...

Tex, get off his balls man. You're being a complete asshole for no reason. Scott is a fantastic guy. Would you be saying this shit to CAOC? I highly doubt it. You have just as few if not LESS credentials than him to be running something like this. Lest we forget the fact that A3 might be merging with CAOC he should have your utmost respect and attention.
Your dispute with the membership fee (that is only existent starting the second year) is futile. You know the CAOC site? Yea... It cost money to make that. You know Tshirts? ID badges? They cost money to make those. You are paying a "GENERAL MEMBERSHIP FEE" not a pay $amount of money and get into free OP's. General Membership Fee's mean the money goes to anything the organization needs not what you want it to go to directly. I would feel just as safe sending Scott $300 to use as he needs as I would sending you a gun to repair. Now, step of the high horse for 10 minutes and ask questions kindly and get the information you desire before calling this man a scammer.
