Welcome to the forums. Take a few moments to look through the stickied threads, and to read through the rules and regulations. miairsoft.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=r-n-r&action=display&thread=1055191860Your 450fps replica will require modification to semi-automatic only in its current state... your other option is down-grading to 410fps or lower to be fully automatic legal for MiA events. Other than that, look around, read the stickies, and enjoy your time.

Its still capable of that if you're set on it...You'll just have to deal with the engagement limit and semi-auto only.

IMO, I would stick with the gun as stock. If you want to take out the fuse and the back plate to fit a 9.6volt, don't take out the back plate. Just use hose repair tape to hold the batt in, trust me
[edit]Having someone else upgrade it is cool but you won't be able to see everything that was done (that is if you wanted to). As far as what I meant, the back plate is the object that is just behind where the battery would go and just above the mechbox. This holds the mechbox in place so you want to keep it in the gun. Most people take it out so they can fit a bigger battery and be able to fit the rubber butt plate. I find that I ran into troubles having it out of the gun. It is better to use Hose repair tape (stronger than duct tape, can be applied and reapplied, waterproof and its black), but the stuff is sometimes a pain to find. I've been to two hardware stores that don't even carry it. I have only seen them in gas stations (weird but I go with it).

FPS reducers are handy in a pinch, but you don't want to rely on one. If you do, sooner or later you'll discover the hard way that your o-rings have worn out and the gun just went 450 on you - giving you a free ticket home from the operation you're at with a nastygram stapled to the bottom.

Read the rules stickies. They'll tell you the breakpoints for various engagement distances and the point where you have to disable full auto. Within those rules, do whatever you want.

I'd suggest skipping the whole mess. It's your first and only AEG. You're still looking for a place to play, which suggests you aren't out there on a 100acre field. Those upgrades buy you bragging rights (in the minds of some) but no performance advantage on small fields, while costing you longevity.
