Where did you obtain such an Item? I've been trying to track a compensator down for a LONG time. Is it realistic or just a bushing type replacement to look like a compensator?

Oh I will. The spring guide plug on the Wilson broke last fall. It's taken me since then to find a place with a new one in stock :/
I'm tuning the Wilson for a TAPPS course at a local shop, then The Kimber will be my skirmish sidearm.

I'm glad that it went to a good home where it can be with others like it.

Knief, the slide on that MEU isn't stock is it? Very nice touch with the custom shop stamp cut off when the Marine armorers cut front cocking serrations.

No, it's a guarder metal body kit. I agree, it's some of the best trademarking work I've ever seen. Thanks for the compliments guys. I had some nice lighting this evening so I snapped a couple more that I'll put up tomorrow when I get a chance.
Ike, I do have a tendency to keep it homogenous around here. But I figure that if there weren't some diversity, the 1911s wouldn't understand their own superiority.

I had some nice lighting this evening so I snapped a couple more that I'll put up tomorrow when I get a chance. Not to be a buzzkill, but the frame trades don't match the slide and barrel. MEUs were built off of GI frames exclusively, except the small Kimber and Springfield contracts. If it was a Springer contract gun it would have either a BarSto or Springfield barrel and Wilson style ambi safety. With the Nowlin barrel and King Arms safety (and modified Springfield slide) it's more likely a PWS made gun from contracted parts. Not to say PWS didn't do some rebuilding with inventory, but why replicate such an oddball when a nice Remington Rand trademark would have REALLY set the whole package off. The CRG prefix on the frame serial number is for a Springfield Professional model. Which I believe were ordered but never received. I do like that the frame is not countersunk at the slide stop pin and the pin is cut flush. Did you cut it, or did it come like that?

@ Kneif, I am beyond jealous of that new MEU you have. It's beautiful. And ARC, I love that hand-guard, very classical in my opinion.

Arc, I'm not a huge fan of 1911s, but that has to be one of the best looking pistols I've ever seen.

That has got to be one of the classiest M1911s I've seen in a long time.
