Wow! Looks great! This really is a great technique for wood furniture. Who needs expensive wood furniture when you can achieve the same results for a few bucks. Yours looks a little more reddish, what paints did you use?

Its not my gun, I did it for a friend. But i was going for a cherry "classy" look on it, i used reddish brown and black Tamiya paints, took a bandana and smeared it across. Turned out great and went on in that pattern with ease.
On your UTG, is that a threaded barrel, because his doesnt have one, or did you just swap the front with a TM one?

No its the same as your friends. It's just an unthreaded tip. After you pop off the rubber orange tip, thats what was under it. It isn't threaded but has a large groove in it. I plan on threading the tip and getting an AKM flashhider for it.
