I just bought a Ghillie Crawl Suit off ebay and yes I'm aware I don't have a gun so you guys don't have to remind me, until I do get one or am allowed to rather, I'm gonna be a gear whore haha. WHEN not if (I'm an optimist) I get a sniper rifle, I'm going to be making a crawl suit because I have a strong belief that it's part of the experience, making your own ghillie and stuff. But for now I have this..
The color pattern has been labelled "Mossy" by the ebay place I bought it from, the BDU's it's made from are MARPAT. The standard features are reinforced elbows and knees, fire and water retardant, thumb holes so sleeves don't ride up when crawling, a velcro flap over the front so buttons or zipper don't get snagged, and a draw string hood.
So it came, and I have learned the benefits and drawbacks of buying online, I've done it a lot before, but this time was different.
The pictures they have on the site make it look like they ghillie is burlap sewn onto a pair of MARPAT BDU's. But when they came I realized that it was a thinner foresty/hunting camo with MARPAT sewn onto the ground contact points (Elbows/arms, chest, legs) This actually works well because the thick cordura MARPAT is only on the bottom where it needs to be and the rest is a thinner material for venting. Here are some pictures, the suit doesn't match well with my extremely green yard but I think it'll do fine at Futureball. I also took some pictures in a stand of trees next to my house.
Enjoy. Comments welcome.
Artsy? naahhh
Yes I know I don't blend with the grass I didn't buy it for that.. this one was just taken to see what it looks like in better light.
I look angry in this one..
Front:
Back:
Lumpy blob thing. (a little blurry)
Where am I?
Thought I'd post for some comments.
