Well, welcome to the boards. Neat gun, a lot less common than others (M4s, MP5s). I have no experience with one whatsoever.
Remember though, if you do convert the retractable stock to a full stock. You can rewire (or have it done) so you can fit a larger battery in there.

Welcome to the forums, richierich. Bigmack's G3SG1 looks a lot like Option #1 you posted there if you remove the scope, he seems very satisfied with it. If you plan on getting a metal body, I'd PM Biggie about your options.

Actuly netmarine180 This gun is similar to the SAS but it is Called a G3 Shorty / MC51! sas mc51 Was made when the enemy started making bulet proof vest that stoped the MP5's 9mm. If you notice it looks similar to the Mp5 but it has a 20round mag which fires 7.62 packing a punch in CQB. I may rewire it but first im going to try to put a wooden stock on it that iv got

Thats not a correct statement.
G3 Came out in 59, MP5 arrived in 64....
The HK51 is an AMERICAN modification of the G3. Fleming arms started doing mods to G3s in the early 80s. (Such as using an MP5 buffer and tropical handguard in place of the G3's)
The MP5 is an evolution of the G3 series, and the HK51 is a mating of father and son.
Secondly, the G3SAS is total fictional garbage. The cocking tube is so short, there would be no way to even chamber a new round.

for info if you want to put in a full stock the wiring is all ready done to the back of the gun. You just have to plug it in in the back and unplug it in the front. I have an MC51 as well but mine has a full stock. I have had mine for over a year now and have yet to have any problems. It is a great gun and i am sure you will love it.
