wow, that looks great, i love the contrast, good job. did either of you have to pay anything for the faux ivory? No, it's a freebie. It was a scrap piece that broke off the bar in an old limousine during an interior rebuild. I looked at it and thought "hey, Kneif can make some really cool grips out of this stuff". Sure enough, he did.

Yea, but I guess I got to see it before you did, El : I just saw them, like less then 20 minutes ago. The pictures do them NO justice compared to in person, they are awesome!

Thank you for the kind words fellas. Unfortunately, a lot of the swirl pattern doesn't show up in the pictures because of the way light reflects off of them. Fortunately, none of the flaws show up either. I haven't even polished the bottoms of the plates or the cut outs for the mag release and mainspring housing pin. There's also a burn mark in the right panel from a failed attempt at heat treating the accrylic. Once again, thank you guys very much for the praise. Since I'm probably sticking with these grips, if anybody wanted the oak ones, I'd let them go for dirt cheap. They'll fit any single stacker 1911 made by WA or KJW.

You have 2 choices from here Kneif. more sanding with 2200 grit paper and then use a buffer. Or have me heat polish them with my mini torch. I'll make sure to bring the mini-torch to games from now on, you never know when a wire breaks on ya

i dont think the ivory grips look good w/ the all black colt. personally id say they should be on a all silver colt... and the wood grips on it make it look like the wild west or sumthing... but the colt does look sexy
