Here's a picture of us at the Keweenaw Academy, a somewhat recently abandon radar base on Lake Superior, last fall. A couple weeks later some people came by and vandilized the area, and since we were kind of trespassing there ourselves, we decided not to play there anymore. Counter Tourist TeamThis one gives a better view of the area, we played inside those buildings behind us. Tourist TeamThe guy on the left is now in the Army protecting our country, thanks Dan.

looks pretty sweet man
The amount of verbal anus pounding you will recieve for the fact that you played on an area without permission will be ludicrous though, even though you already stated you realized it was a bad idea... good luck

You're also going to take a verbal anus pounding for running around wearing shooting glasses and shop goggles. Invest in some quality ANSI-rated eye protection.

The location looks cool none the less. out of curiusity if the instalation is abandoned who would you ask for permission?

You would ask permission because it's still trespassing. Abanadoned != unowned.
I probably don't have to say anything along the lines of 'Way to break the law, douche' because you already know you did. I mean, if I had to say something like 'Don't endanger our sport, assmunch' everytime someone did this, I'd probably get sick of it. I'd have to resort to other put-downs and insults like 'Quit now before a cop shoots you, retard.' and I don't want to do that.

Oh, my bad. I assume you'd ask the military though you'd have to call around for the right person.

Thanks for the information and comments, I'll treasure them greatly, although I doubt you live in a area like me where you go to private propperty and shoot off rifles and then come out of the wood and see two cops (when your buddy next to you is holding a AK 47 (Real steel I mind you)) and all they do is compliment you on your guns. First know the area before making some smurf comment like cops will shoot you (Not to mention the orange tips unlike certain people here have in their galleries). And for the googles we use, at 20ft away, those things easily stop rounds from breaking through, and I perfer feeling the bb hit me so I know I am out. Obviously I can sort out who are the trolls. Sorry for having a fun and exciting day playing some casual airsoft and exploring an abandon radar base. Till then I enjoy the UP a lot more then down state in landscape and people, thanks for letting me reinforce that point even more.
As for the tresspassing part: You are correct, and I understand how it is stupid, but hear me out. The UP is a lot different then southeast Michigan (My Parents live in Brighton, and I grew up there). People's views are a lot different, and there is ocasional hunting year round, which you might consider poaching, but when you have a family of four children, and have a less than a $40,000 income you have to find other means of food. People's views on tresspassing are, as long as you do not damage anything while there, you are not looked down upon by anyone, including law enforcement. So please know the setting before you make false comments about things.
Well that's my follow up rant, flame me as you will, because I doubt people from two different backgrounds could ever agree. Some may call that concept prejudice.

That concept is, in fact, prejudice.
My problem with your eyewear is not that it won't stop a pellet, but rather that it doesn't fully seal around your eye. There are gaps that bb's can get into. If you don't believe me, there's a video on Airsoft Players that shows a guy wearing safety glasses getting shot in the eye during a "fun and exciting day playing some casual airsoft."
Furthermore, if any of you have any kind of upgraded guns, you can punch right through shop glasses, especially at close ranges.
As for orange tips, the orange is only required for shipping, and they aren't going to do you much good with hypothetical law-enforcement anyway. In low-light conditions, cops aren't necessarily going to wait long enough to determine whether or not the tips are orange. They're going to assume that it's a weapon (because if they don't, they're stupid) and act accordingly. It's cool that the cops in your neck of the woods are laid-back about it, but it only takes one edgy cop to make everyone's day very very bad.
Be safe. You may not believe it, but your behavior affects our hobby whether you're a tresspassing back-woods yooper assclown or a spoiled suburb brat pulling irresponsible airsoft drive-by shootings in your high-school parking lot.

I thank you for understanding my situation a little better, and thanks for the info about the glasses, I will look into those on the various sites listed for pairs, and inform my friends, since till now none of us had an upgraded gun, with only two AEGs and two gas guns, the rest were basic springers that were able to shoot about 50 feet. But now that I just bought a SG-1 with 450 fps upgrade by RedWolf (Used gun), we will definitey have to take more care, and we have already brought up that concern. We do play games down in Livingston county, but have to deep in a friends property all the time in order to avoid confrentations.
I am sorry if I came off as a jerk in my rant, I was just a little upset when people don't realize the cultural difference when still living in the same State. I live up here half the year, and the other half in Brighton with my parents while I am on co-op. Hope you can understand the situation, my friends and I try and be mature about airsoft, especially when living downstate.

if you want to show up to most if not all MIA events, that SG1 has to be converted to semi auto only to comply with MIA rules, just FYI

Do typical airsoft stores in Michigan do that form of modification? Since I have never thought of using the gun in full auto, that is what my SAS is for. Is there a certain set fps where all guns have to be semi auto only, or is it only for that specific gun? (Not sure if I wrote that in a way to comprehend.)
