Most people are right-handed so they probably just put it on there as 'just in case'. I mean, who's going to argue against more space to put stuff? That's the great thing about modularity. There is no concrete spot stuff has to go, stuff goes wherever it works well for you.

Fair enough. I just need to find some more stuff to put on there. There's nothing sadder than a molle opportunity that has not been taken advantage of. EDITGot a new pouch for the molle on the back of my vest. It's a big, OD, backpack-like utility pouch. I thought about what would be best to put in it. I have a black carry-on bag in which I keep just about everything that I'm not wearing. I left the bbs out of my new pouch to avoid rattle (by the way, any tips on preventing the rattle of bbs?). I usually don't carry bbs during a game anyway. In my new pouch, I tried to keep low priority stuff that still would not be a bad idea to have on me on the field. I got my green gas, the loading tool for me pistol, my pistol's laser, my g3's bipod, the tools necessary to attach all my accesories, lens cleaner, spare kill rag, grease paint, and some spare alice clips. I just wanted to fill it up to try it. I'd like to be able to keep bbs in there, because they seem like the most logical thing to have on the field, but I the rattle makes it not worth it. Here's the pic: I'm disappointed the the pouch covers up so much molle, but that is to be expected of something so big. I've been thinking of moving it down to hang halfway on my belt to open up more space. The alice clip that it looks like the pouch is hanging from (which it is not) is just there because the pouch would hang over and fold in half when empty.

That looks like a GI Issue-type nylon buttpack. Usually, most people attach that directly to a web belt, not to a rig. That frees up your back for stuff like a hydration pouch, or some general purpose pouches. Heck, Blackhawk makes a special forces backpack that can attach directly to their vests, so...

I'm gonna keep it on my back for now because I have nothing to make room for. The hydration system already has a home and I don't think that there is anything else left to carry Thanks Jacko

Well I think that I am just going to put a hydration system on my vest, because there really is nothing else I would want to put on. With everything full the thing weighs at least 20 pounds, so I hate being filled with stuff. I liek to be light and sneaky, not bulky and clumsy. But here is my vest (Don't mean to hijakck your thread NightCrawler): Nightcrawler, have you used your vest in the field as of yet? Or just small games or just to show off around the house?

Nice lookin' vest, Andrew. It reminds me of mine only it sacrifices some utility for mag pouches. Perfect if you carry a lot of standards or star mags. Just curious, how do you make that standard vest with no bells or whistles weigh 20 lbs? Although I also appreciate the importance of traveling light, I have found a happy medium by evenly distributing everything that allows me to carry the necessities while remaining comfotable, low profile, and mobile.
I've used my vest in the field for a few small games and couldn't be more impressed with it's performance.

Well I put a lot of hicaps and pistols in the pouches, along with a lot of spare magazines for them.
In the most top pouch I put my radio in it, what it's designed to hold. The breast (chest area) pouches I stick my small magazines in. On the Right Pouch (when you put it on the right, or left looking at it) I put my 2 spare Glock23 Magazines and a small bag of .20s, the bags that come with the TM Aegs or most guns anyhow. The Left Pouch (when you put it on the left, or right looking at it) I put my 3 spare Mp5k Lowcap Magazines. On the Two outer most Magazine Pouches I put my KWA Glock 19 and my KJ W Glock23. In the other four Magazine Pouches I put my AK 250rnd Hicaps (that are pretty heavy when full of BBs), AUG Standards, and anything else, so it does weigh a lot. Next time your at a game with me, I will let you try on my vest to show you how heavy it is.
I need to get a Web-belt, the ones that hold spare Pistol Magazines because my skater belts aren't cutting it. I also need a Left-Handed Pistol Holster because I need somewhere for another pistol and my Mac-11 is already holstered on my right leg.

Yeah, the emo belts just can't cut it. I was glad to replace mine. Mag pouches can be aliced directly onto the web belt or you can opt for dropleg pouches.

Andrew, no offence, but why put magainzes in your vest if you are not using the gun? I doubt you carry your AK, MP5 and Aug onto the field all at once. You could probally lose pound or more by taking only 1 set into the field at a time. I also need a Left-Handed Pistol Holster because I need somewhere for another pistol and my Mac-11 is already holstered on my right leg. PM sent

Actually I do.... . I carry everything the first roudn and feel out the type of play, then strip down to 3 guns (1 AEG, 2 GBBs) and play it out from there.

I dont know how you could be effective carrying 3 aegs at the same time, but if it works for you, ok. But after the first round then, you could.

i know it is a late post, but as far as the use of the straps on the back, i have seen pics of people that put trench shovels (aka "whomping shovels") through them, as well as swords. i personally keep one of my bokkens (wooden katana) in mine for now, beings as i got harassed by local authority when i lived in Spring Lake for carrying my real katana's around...

Nice vests there guys.. I have a el cheapo one but its ok.. I dont use it.. But y'all should see where i put my pistol Since my ghillie covers my belt i had to find a way to have my sidearm on me.. SO i modded a left handed universal holster (I am right handed. I was going to go dual Beretta's back in the day) i modded the holster to fit on my ankle. It works really nice. I was suprised i can move my ankle. But i can still have my pistol.. WOW my brain does work.. Ross Dawg Bait
