I'd hafto agree with savage. An Aimpoint replica would make it all "Delta-ish" and cool as hell.

I agree the aimpoint would be sweet, but I'm not sure exactly what "look" I'm going for yet with this gun so I'm trying to take all things into consideration.
UPDATE: I've added 4 new pics to the gallery that show it after full repair and assembly. The black slashes on it are left-over wipe away cleaner.

go with the aimpoint ;D
- i think you should make it look like petary's idea. I think he's on to something with that picture. That color sheme on the m14 looks kick @ss. Then if you mount a aimpoint, it would make it even more kick then it is allready.
I would definatly say that color sheme and an aimpoint. Then it's done. ;D

Yeah, I want to do that sooo bad. Aw man, TM better come out with a M14 soon, as soon as it comes out (and it's not expensive,) I WILL HAVE ONE.

The whole point for TM to make an m14 is so its a more affordable and understanding price. Its so people don't have to go to Airsoft club and buy one (not naming any names). I'm sure it won't go past 300 for a HK dealer.
Anyway not to get off topic, but Testicool: The Jedi has returned, now go slay some sith....

I give you the SOCOM 16 www.pbase.com/socom16/inboxI haven't found the perfect flashhider yet (that's an M4's in the pictures) and I have yet to finish the handguard scope mount but it's on it's way.

So... hott. I think the flashider looks fine, it's only odd because it's "glossy" and everything else is flat.

I honestly thought it looked better with the old flash hider, this new one looks well...odd.
Anyhoo, your gun, do what you want with it. Just my 2 cents.

Very nice. The flashider doesn't look too bad, once everything is painted the same color it'll look killer.

Yeah i think if you just paint the flashhidder the same color as the gun it will look fine.

Thank you everyone, but as for the flashhider. I thought the M4 one was a little too chubby so I went ahead and made my own ;D, but you'll have to wait until the paint dries to see it. On the other hand, I'm looking for any technical advice on how to create the forward scope mount in the real steel picture Bigmack supplied for us. Attaching the scope mount to the heatsheild would be to wobbly, so I'm looking for an easy attach and removal system that I could use. I thought of simply buying a 20mm rail and strapping it to the outerbarrel with zip ties but that seems a bit prehistoric. I put pics of the cut heatsheild and outerbarrel system in the gallery for reference. EDIT: I put up pics of the completed rifle (minus the scope mount). The paint I used turned out a little brown but whatever. Bigmack, I'd like to thank you for the idea, because finished, that's the coolest thing I've ever seen in my entire life. Kind of looks like a Garand without the mag who wants to help make a new mag? ;D www.pbase.com/socom16/inbox

Maybe JBWeld some nuts (heh) onto the outer barrel, underneath the heatshield and then drill some holes through the heatsheild and essentially bolt a weaver rail into place? I don't know how sturdy that would be, but the rail wouldn't be relying on the heat shield for stability then. See below. Little green things are the nuts and bolts, blue thing is the rail.

Hmm, that could work but i'm worried about the roundness of the barrel, the nuts would barely have a grip on the barrel. And I'm not sure of the strength of JBWeld (never used it before) but if I'm swinging the gun around with, potentially, a heavy sight it could end up falling off.
What I was thinking is taking some material, I'm not sure what kind, but taking say a block of it, rounding out it's bottom to the shape of the barrel and bolting/glueing the rail on top of that. Essentially it would be just a large chunk of whatever with a rail on top, and glue the whole thing on.
