I ordered an "airsoft AK" pistol grip off of ebay, to make my AK stand out abit, but when the package arived, the grip turned out to be a real steel grip! Used at that, because it smelled of gunpowder! How nice!
Well yall know, Midas and I tend to be sort of "curious" if you will, and like to mess with things to see if we can MAKE them work, if they dont work in the first place
Sooooooo we took the grip, cut it vertically down the middle, went to home depot and got some good ole 1/4 plexi-glass and a plastic cutting dremel bit. We cut the plexi-glass into the silhouette of the grip, three times, and stacked them up and super glued them together, the grip still needed a little mor height to fit the motor and motor cage so we took a cd height peice of plastic and cut that too into the silhouette of the grip and glued it on, and the motor now fit with the added height
There were some gaps where the flat plexi-glass met the unevenly cut grip sides, so we tape the inside of the grip up along the seam, and put epoxy all over the front and back of the grip, where it had been widened, and let that harden. We then took a drill and made holes through two strong points in the grip, covered pins in epoxy and slid them into the holes to dry
There were still little "pot holes" on the front and back of the grip, so we used Durhams water putty to fill them, and sanded everything smooth when it dried... after that we painted it!
Here are some new pics of the custom romanian style grip being modeled on my cousins AK

My whole family feels the Custom Grip has a much better feal in your hand then the stock TM grip
Our custom grip is much meatier feeling (in a good way) and it is in less of an odd oval shape (like the TM grip) and more of a rounded rectangle... all I can say is Im proud and the grip turned out magnificent!
More pics will be added as my AK is modeled with the grip (my cousins AK is painted black as you can see, so it doesnt look as good as wood would with the grip)
