This is my almost completed project gun. I'm waiting for Sting to get back from vacation so we can work on his and have a matching pair. When we get to it, we're going to have our names engraved in the slide (right side behind the "STI" logo and chamber). www.pbase.com/knief/airsoftIt happens to be layed out across my sex new digital camo. I just got the camera for my birthday yesterday, so I got some nice pics as soon as I could.

Thank you I haven't chronoed it yet, but on green gas, it shoots through the bottom of a coke can, dents the top, and (I don't know how i got the angle like this) can lodge itself back into the hole in the bottom. I'd say it's shooting over 400 fps. Not exactly a skirish piece, with no hop-up and all. That 7th picture really brought out the orange residue left on the compensator. It's not nearly as aparent to the eye as it seems in that picture.

Absolutely Beautiful! Great choice of metal slide also.

Very nice! I like the silver slide and scope mount sandwiched between the black sight and frame. Did you get your slide fitment issues all cleared up then?

I got it cleared up enough for it to work. I have to back the compensator out a mm or so to get the slide to return fully, but it's still locked tighly in the threading.
I'm not buying another shooter's design slide. It was 2mm longer than my stock slide, so when it hit the compensator prematurely, I got 6mm of slide hanging off the back of the gun. It took me two night to file off the front of the slide and re-polish it. That was a pain, but all worth it in the end.

Huh, my 4.3 SD slide was pretty much a perfect fit right out of the box. Gotta love airsoft quality control. Ah well, I'd say it was worth the effort for the final result. Now you just need some STI grip stickers to go along with the slide.

I actually do have the grip inserts. I've just got to figure out what color I want to paint them before i slip them in. I also have a guarder hammer and a spring set waiting to be installed (I don't think i need the spring set though).

Looks good...can't say that compensated race guns are my cup of tea, however. it's the exact opposite of a tactical weapon... and that's just...bleh. hehe. that's just me, though.
