They wear whatever they want to wear, just check out the galleries over at www.militaryphotos.net and see for yourself. Great pics Warmonger, really makes me wish we could have some desert games here in Mi. But....that's never going to happen. As for the SF look, add some more dirt and grime along with a beefy santa beard and you'll be set for sure. ;D heehee!

Sleeping Bear is a state park... i doubt they would let Airsofters play there...
there are giant plots of private land over that way, but finding an owner of a giant deserted dune area would be hard, and convincing them to let people shoot play guns on their land would be harder

Cool pics, Warmonger!
I think playing on sand dunes at night with a full moon would be killer. That'd be a really great time, IMO, though all the sand getting in the gear would be a bummer.

Yes a coat of dust would have been great ,but theres never one around when you need one ;D.ya special forces, delta, seals a lot of time where civilian gear whether to blend in or just cause they can .I seen a guy on specwargear the paintball guy who look cool so thought id give it a shot.Did it real quick, but turned out ok.HMmmm....desert game ,gets map back out.....

Yep, I know which guy you're talking about. ( Mr Daniel right?) They've got some nice gear considering they're paintballers. The Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes would be great, but like Rustpot mentioned I doub't they'd ever allow an airsoft game to be hosted there. It's too bad, I've been craving some desert combat for quite some time now. And Jacko, sand getting into everything would only be part of the fun. Or...if that doesn't make it sound good..then err... it'll be uber realistic!!! How's that? Moonlit dune battles with tracer rounds does sound great though.

Uber realism, I'll go for that. I agree, tracer rounds over the sand dunes would be great. Especially if we could use some smoke grenades (Surrounded by sand, what're the chances of catching too much stuff on fire?)!

yeah, great until someone takes a tumble down the 480 some odd foot one, which i ahve done btw and i can garantee that hitting I'm too lazy to spell a full word out. Please mock me. head on a rock every 20 feet or some isnt THAT much fun . i must agree however some sort of a desert game would be absolutly awsome. Altough, a desert terrain would be nice, the type of really lose dry sand at the dunes would kill you after awhile. out near my school in Utah we are at..... 7,000 some odd feet, so there are a lot of PERFECT high desert areas that would be absolutly killer to play in, especially if u go further up in the of the moutains witht he slot canyons and all that jazz. Ahhh.... if only people didnt mind some crazies running around in combat gear carrying assault rifles... what a world....

that 480foot hill that is like a 45degree angle? i went down that, started falling about 50ft from the bottom. worst 30secs of my life, cut and scraped all to hell and smashed my sunglasses on a rock at the bottom (would have taken my eye out)
the best part is that we went when there was a fog and you could only see 100ft, very creepy when you're halfway down and cant see shit
the sand in the gear would be 3x worse if theres any winds. i vacation near silver lake, and even small gusts will bite the skin off your legs from all the sand being slown about

Desert Skirmish, 'eh? I'll see what I can do ;D Seriously though, I might be able to set up something like that for an OP some time this summer or next. I will be going up north to the place we had OP: Rondezvous soon and see what hills, if any, we could cover with sand or whatever...maybe a little too far-fetched but we will see
