Sonofamonkey... Yesterday my SD6 just fine! Worked perfectly all day long without any trouble at all. I discharged my battery before we left the game, and this morning after I woke up I decided to recharge it again and have some target practice fun indoors. Not even one standard mag into it and I heard the standard dry fire sound indicating I was out of bb's. Of course it didn't seem right since I only shot off 20 rounds or so, and after taking out the magazine I saw there were bb's still in it. I plonked the magazine back in and tried to fire again and nothing. Just the horrible dry fire sound greeting me once again. Checked for jammed bb's, checked the magazine to see if anything got stuck inside it, but all seems to be fine. I have no idea what could be the matter relp???

Well, you could dissemble it to find out, but thats a lot of trouble, especially if you havent done it before. I would suggest looking at the feeding mechanism.

SOLUTION! Or I hope so!!! ;D Make sure your hop-up is set correctly RIGHT NOW!!! You have the exact same problem I had when I got my A5...dry firing. I think that's all it is, hope so!

No Mr Newman, I wish the solution was that simple. The hop-up lever was the very first thing I tried. I also sprayed some silicone lube into the bb feeding area and still nothing. Its really strange, if I roll a bb down the barrel and then fire it zooms out as if normal, so I'm guessing there must be a blockage somewhere where the magazine meets the gun. I don't really want to take the whole thing apart just yet, being a marui MP5 it'll mean TOTAL take down just to get it apart. ack. So I want to do some research and find out possible reasons why this is happening before I start to fiddle with it. arrgh...just my luck though. Everything I touch breaks.

I'm not a wonder with AEGs but do you think the battery may be dead or FUBAR?

I'm helping Hadoken, guys, since I also own an MP5SD6, albeit made from a different company (ICS). Hopefully I'll get Hadoken squared away!

Aye, thanks for the help Newman.
I've been talking to Pika (airsoftplayers) and we've concluded it's most likely a broken tappet plate. So phooey, I'll take the gun apart tomorrow to confirm and I guess I'll have to order a new part and perhaps some sort of upgrade while I'm at it.
*shrugs*
Just upset about it, didn't think it would break so soon. Airsoft+Hadoken=bad luck

Well, next time try not to "tappet" so hard! ;D Yes I know, that was bad, please don't hurt me.
Anywho, that sucks Hadoken; already need to rip it apart to fix something. Maybe you should get some other upgrades while you're at it, as long as you're going to be opening up the mechbox. Or maybe you shouldn't, since it's that kind of thought process that makes me broke all the time.

I'm guessing upgrading it while trying to fix a broken/bent/etc. piece is not the smartest idea But then again, Hadoken's played Airsoft for a long time and can probably disassemble a gearbox with his eyes closed, in his sleep ;D ;D

I'm sorry Hadoken, I think I jinxed it. Remember back at the skirmish we were talking about your TM and Neal's ICS? Remember how I was talking about how TM is known for quality and its prolly better that you got the Tm rather then the ICS regardless of the metal parts? I never knocked on wood, I feel guilty.

sorry to hear about your gun, that sucks. For some reason I am thinking if you had bought from a local retailer (like http://www.AirsoftToys.com) you could probably had them take care of it..

hehehehe..aaah Locutus, even though I'm feeling kinda down today, your Airsoft Toys comment just cheers me up. This time I really didn't expect another Airsoft Toys promotion, thought you would use your wisdom to help me, or perhaps even let me know Airsoft Toys has the fix I need available. phooey.
Overall I'm still happy with my purchase, the weapon performed perfectly during Sunday's skirmish. Its just a little set back for now, and maybe time for an upgrade while I'm at it.
Don't worry, I'll be ordering from Airsoft Toys pretty soon, I think they have the cheapest magazine prices I've seen for a US dealer. And the custom SD battery is pretty tempting too, but right now I've got other things to worry about. Arrgh.
Edit: Forgot to slap Minky for his "tappet" comment. hehe

I have nothing else to say, sorry Hado, couldn't resist. As for helping, I am clueless when it comes to the internals of AEGs, sorry. But I left you a private message about this.
