I'm stating the obvious here, but I'm gonna' take a shot (like the pun?) at summarizing the camo/gun choice discussion thus far. Some interesting points have been made, but what we're really talking about are the basics of airsoft & military conflict. Shoot or be shot, see or be seen, fight or flee. GUNS: Viking - great post! In order to play you need to be able to shoot which means you need a gun. Gun choice is up to you, depending on budget, playing style and the type of firearm(s) you would like to use, and of course be seen with. CAMO: Ed I must say, I find your choice of apparel interesting, but it is your choice, and it will be very effective in certain environments. Airsoft players, as well as those in real military roles, often look the same.....the same as the environment in which they are operating. It's not a style choice usually, it's necessity. Airsofters may vary their camo based on style, team, budget, etc. Woodland camo works well in forest settings, but not so well in urban/CQB settings. I really don't care if I look like everyone else, but I sure don't want to stand out in the setting in which we are skirmishing! I sincerely believe most airsoft players wear what they do because they want to disappear into their playing environment and the scenarios in which they are participating. I find it hard to believe that they choose their apparel based on what they saw on the internet (unless it was while shopping ;D) Personally, I want to shoot, and not be shot in order to remain in the game as long as possible. TACTICS: Your style of play, why, when & who you shoot, and how you operate as a team player, and how your team plays. Do you prefer to fight or flee? The choice is yours, and is often attributed to your skills, your guns, and whether you see the enemy - or if they see you. Would you rather be a target, or take aim on a target? Hmmm, Airsoft 101?? At the end of the day, who really cares what gun you used to shoot me in the ass or what camo you have on? It's all inter-related and achieving a good balance is up to you, your style and your budget. Perhaps Ed is fast, quiet, well-armed, a great shot and a wonderful team player, but his black & grey stands out against a forest of yellows & reds - and he bears the BB marks to prove it . On the other hand, maybe I've got great guns, good camo, I'm a dead-nut shot, but despite my best efforts to be a good team player I'm an anchor because I sound like a drunken, 3-legged pachiderm when I move around!? I'm not winning any fashion contests in life, and I'm certainly not going to in the field. My out-of-shape weight situation is a whole other subject Nuff said - I'm Out! BTW - Unnamed is really, really hard to get on a BB <joke> ;D
