Don't downplay the old AK. The wood on it looks very real, and I think a crappy black shiny plastic foregrip would look worse. Traditionally the "shorty" AK has a wood grip and a skeleton stock, not a full stock. I think that it makes the gun look lop-sided. Well, it's not the first time TM's made a fantasy gun (ie MC-51).

I would rather have the plastic stocks than wood. It looks real, but weighs 1/2 as much. I have personally seen 3 people look amazed when I told them the rental AK47 they were holding had plastic stocks, they thought I was messing with them.

I guess i can't really say anything, because I have never held airsoft ak, but it seems to me that most people want the wieght

The wieght is cool and all, but not very useful for skirmishing. My friend Blade has an all metal g3, and you couldn't pay me to carry that thing in the field, my arms would fall off in about 2 hours. ;D

Kind of like my close to 8 pound AUG...yowza that thing's a beast! I get tired carrying it outside to shoot at pop cans, maybe I should start bench pressing the thing to build some more muscles...

That is what is cool about SMG's. Because they are smaller, Their real steal weight is more tolerable, So having a realistic airsoft gun becomes enjoyable

Yeah, having a heavy gun is cool (for you to show off), but eventually you get tired. Try getting a sling, my friend has one on his AUG and it works fine (but his shoulder hurts at the end of the day). I wonder how easy it would be to one-hand the new AK with no stock?

Wood on guns really does make them heavy. A friend who owns a m1a1 is always complainging about its 6.5 pound weight, and not even wood on it.

Is that new TM gun an AK102 or one of those variants?

this new ak isn't fictious. It is actually based on the AKSU( or AKMSU). The only difference is that it is has a short clip that I have never seen before.

Firebird is correct; the Spetnaz is not a fake gun. As for the stock, every photo I have ever seen of it - it has been stockless so I am guessing a full or folding stock is just personal preference. So, TM putting on a full stock might not be so surprising. I have seen photos on the Spetnaz with a shorter clip but I think it looks better with a full ak clip: Ak47 SpetnazOther neat looking Aks: AK74 (I am going to make my soon to be new AK47 into a 74)AK-97 FolderAK-101 Assault RifleYes yes, I know, its easy to fall in love with the Aks.
