Hey all, I will be getting my AUG Civilian Version soon, but I don't know where I should purchase it. I know that I want the gun to have an M120 spring, metal brushings, and systema spring guide all installed with the gun. I want to know where I can get the best deal for my money, considering the gun AND The upgrade. Right now, my first choice is (and I'm aware some of you have a problem with him) VAX. This is because he's selling AUG with batt and charger for 305, then the above upgrade for 70, 5 for shipping, and around 25 for tax. This would all total to around 400. I was wondering if someone could advise me on a better route to take. I would order from airsoft toys, except i don't know if they perform upgrades. Or, I could buy the AUG, get the upgrade parts, and someone knowledgeable from MiA could help me implement the parts (I would be willing to pay them in moderation). Anyways, I appreciate the help guys, I just want to get a longer range, flexible, counter-sniper weapon in time for March 3rd.

I purchased my AUG from airsofttoys, but that was during their 10% off sale ;D They do perform upgrades, just send them an email and tell them what you want done, they're very nice and will happily answer any questions. You could also think about ordering from overseas, in fact WGC has a great AUG starter package for $360 shipped that I think you should check out: www2.wargameclub.com/cgi-bin/cart/shopper.cgi?itm_items_TM-AEG-AUGRT-P((cat_category_AEG's%20Package((1 I'd say get the gun stock for now, and worry about upgrades later. I have a TM AUG SR and it performs great right out of the box, so I think the $70 could be better spent on maybe a couple mags and bags of BBs instead of parts that would only cost around $45 on their own. Right now I'm trying to decide what I'd like to upgrade in my own AUG, and I plan to order the parts within a week or so. If everything goes well with tearing into my mechbox, I'd be glad to share any info with you when you decide to upgrade. If you insist on getting it upgraded from the start, may I suggest you go with a slightly lower powered spring, such as a PDI 140-150%? This should get your FPS right around 350, and be a little easier on your mechbox in the long run. Also, just the parts you have listed won't really increase your range that much, just your gun will get to the limits of its range faster The addition of a tighbore barrel will help somewhat in the range department. I have a Systema 6.04mm BS barrel in my AUG, and have noticed a slight increase in the accurate range of my shots, meaning they don't go that much farther overall, but they have much better consistency and groupings at range. Here's what I plan to order soon: PDI 140% Spring Systema Ver 3 Spring Guide w/bearing Systema Silicon Piston Head Systema Bushings Feel free to message or email me if you want to discuss the wonders of the AUG! 8)

I agree with Minky Chuck. You need that Aug by March 3rd! Were all set to go now that Joe has his P90!

M120 gets about 390 FPS - that's pretty much what I'm looking for, a low level sniper weapon, but I still have the option of full auto for when the shizat hits the fan. I thought that higher FPS means greater range? Are you trying to say that 390 FPS won't give much better performance than 350? Basically, that 40 FPS is the edge I want to have over an ordinary gun or one with a 350 FPS upgrade. I also plan to get the tight bore barrel, Minky, but don't have the $$$ yet.

Chuck I allready told you not to get a 390 FPS AEG no one really wants that. And no higher FPS doesnt add range it adds feet per second.

Well, in my opinion, and from much of what I've read, 350 FPS is kind of the "magic number" for speed. It gives you a nice edge over stock guns, but it also allows you to get a little more up close and personal should the need arise. Once you get close to 400 FPS, some event organizers wouldn't want you to have that full auto ability, and would limit you to shooting outside a certain range, say 50 feet or something, and semi only. I know I sure wouldn't want to get shot with a close to 400 FPS gun from any short distance, but others may feel differently. I just always wonder why people want to get guns upgraded so fast right away, when it might actually end up limiting the types of games and places where they can play... I say enjoy and get to know your gun in its stock form, then if and when you decide to upgrade, you'll apreciate the difference that much more.

That's a good point, I figured 390 would be the magic number; not quite 400, so not sonsidered a sniper. Yeah, I guess I'll go with 350, thanks Rich, Mink. I have a gun for cloer range games too, my brother's M11. But the only reason I want to get my gun upgraded right away is because I don't want to have to ship it back out, and pay the shipping and tax all over again. I'm wondering now if I should get the upgrade right away or not...

Well, in the end it's completely up to you what to do. No matter what I would get either a Hicap mag or a couple standards when you order the gun though. It wouldn't be any fun to only have one magazine that runs out after a few bursts of BBs!

Yeah, I prolly pick up a hi-cap along with the gun. Do you know how much airsoft toys charges on the upgrades they perform? Also, I want to get a 9.6v, 1500 mah batt. What modification do I need to do? All sites with the 9.6v batt, says "AUG requires modification". Eh...

Just send airsofttoys an email stating what parts you want installed and ask how much they would charge for it. As far as the battery, I think the only thing you have to do is move the fuse, which takes about 30 seconds to do. When I got my 8.4v 1500mah battery I had to do this as well. In the battery compartment on an AUG there is a plastic plate, held in with 2 screws, where the wiring comes through from the mechbox. All you have to do is take out this plate and move the fuse so it's on the mechbox side, instead of taking up space in the battery area, then put the plate back in. You might also have to cut some of the rubber buttpad away so that it will close properly, but I didn't have to do that for mine.
