allright i just learned of this a couple days ago. and ill admit its all i can think about. ive looked at a lot of websites and it would appear that wargamers has the best prices, if there are better sites or if they have bad service, please let me know.
ok the guns i have picked are based mostly on looks (intimidation factor). the feature i am looking for most is upgradeability, in power and in mods. i want something versatile with a lot of options.
ok the list.
HK G3A4/SG1 AK-47 Steyr AUG PSG-1 (sniper) SG550
ofcourse what i reallly want is a sturmgewher(mp44) but untill i can find one under 300 i am out of luck. so far i have only seen one(-internals) for 500.
also i am in the detroit area. if there is anyone else here who has one of theese weapons id really like to have a closer look at one. are there meetings?
all opinions are appreciated. thanks

Ok, well some good sites I have learned about are www.airsoftshop.com , www.dentrinity.com , and www.redwolfairsoft.com as well as www.wargameclub.com . Mind you that all of these are sites in Japan or Hong Kong where the shipping is a bit more expensive than retailers in america. Accounting for the shipping, I still haven't really found an American retailer that sells much better prices except for www.mdairsoft.com which has almost equal pricing. For the locations of fellow airsofters, I and a few others live in Farmington Hills, around the detroit area. We have a website at geocities.com/lkairsoft . There aren't really any get togethers or meetings except for the airsoft squirmishes that we put together, which will be shown under the events in the forums, and you are welcome to come to them. We just had a game in Novi on the 3rd, but there wasn't a large turnout, only about 12 people at its peak.

Wargame club has pretty cruddy customer service if you ask me. Go with Eddie from www.airsoftshop.com he has cheap upgrades and free batterys with all TM AEGs. Or www.airsofttoys.com there the best American retailer when it comes to AEGs.

i actually live at 8mile and inkster road. near farmington hills. im am off work on wed(6th). and willing to come take a look at any airguns available. i am also available for chat under the AIM name "Make Them Stop".
i just noticed that airsoftshop.com has a special 25$ extra for 400fps upgrade. from what i have read about upgradeing thats pretty cheap.

I found a good website at www.airsoftshop.com/ the prices are cheaper then RedWolf in some cases. It is still based in Hong Kong so you have to deal with the expensive shipping.

PLEASE read this thread before you go and upgrade your gun right away! miairsoft.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&num=1011738408&start=15It really bugs me that so many people seem to want their first gun upgraded before they even touch it. I say get a stock gun and enjoy it, and then if you feel the need to upgrade, do it yourself. When you are going to only have one gun, you don't want it to be upgraded to the point where you might not even be able to use it in some games. Now, as far as mods and upgrades, the best AEG for that would have to be the Tokyo Marui MP5 series. I can't really say which one comes in second out of those you listed, but the AUG and PSG-1 are rather limited in what you can do with them. You can do quite a bit with the internals, but when it comes to cosmetic changes, you will find that there aren't many options, unless you want to do some custom work yourself or pay a premium to have it done.

I find, even though the AUG doesn't have a great deal of cosmetic upgrades its only because it doesn't need them, the Steyr AUG is already a kickass looking gun right out of the box. A scope is just about all you can do and makes it so much better. Ok enough rambling about the gun.

Yeah 400FPS is too much for an AEG. Also please dont confuse airsoft with airguns. I would be pretty mad if you shot me with an airgun.

i dont need to have my gun upgraded. i just figured for 25$ extra i might as well. but 400fps is not high on my priority list. just sounded like a good deal is all. i am thinking of getting an ak-47 now, being as i have a lot of soviet stuff... uniforms medal's etc. i think it would look good with it all. kind of a theme. + i think it would be nice with a wodden stock maybe an extended barrel. but that would be for a later date.

I think that the AK is a good gun. Duncan's is nice (he will tell you more about that). I also agree that too many people think of upgrading. AEG's can shoot fine as long as you adjust the hop-up correctly.
What I would like to say is that when you buy a gun, try to get as many things as possible. Take advantage of package deals and pre-upgrades. For example, buying a gun with a full stock or metal body might be a couple of dollars extra on the gun, but if you were to buy the accessories separately, they would cost a lot more.
Just asking: you chose a lot of long guns, do you mind sacrificing manuvarability for accuracy?

i considerd the p90 for about 2 sec. then decided to pass on it because it was ugly. even though it is probably one of the best QCB weapons. and to whom ever asked i need my accuracy. anyone who sees a nicely tricked out ak with wood stock and metal body for under 400 please let me know. i went out and bought a spring handgun today. got a glock g17 long. its nice. the brochure says 230fps. my friend says that it hurts but not to bad looks like airsooft extreme has a good deal on an ak-47 with battery, charger, discharger,hi cap magazine, couple thou bbs, and they pay shipping. all for $425 i think thats the way iill go. be a week or 2 though. now all i need will be $340 for a metal body and wood set. and i will be set.
