I have been having problems with my AK for the past few weeks. I am getting severely pissed at it cause I cannot find out what is causing the problems, but here is what happens: In semi-auto mode, it will shoot 1 bb, then 2 bbs the next round, then 1 bb again, continually repeating this cycle. In automatic mode, I am most concerned about the gun because it will shoot maybe 1 out of every three shots, just randomly dry firing while a full clip is still attached. I hate to see my gun like this , but I have narrowed the problem down to the gearbox, maybe the position of the front nipple thing, the clip and other parts surrounding are working well. I am at a loss right now I have taken apart and put back together the gearbox multiple times and I'd hate to do it again without fixing anything. Please, anyone with knowledge about problems like this, I would appreciate your input, thank you.

kinda sounds like the tappet plate...or the air nozzle...
that's the only thing i can think of thatwould do something like that.

what do you mean adjust the pressure of the motor into the gears? You mean don't put the motor so close to the gears Oy, I hate gearboxes!!

Duncan look on page 8 of your owners manual at the bottom, follow the steps and see if it still misfires, this is what Robo is speaking of.

"pressure of the motor" he's talking about that little hex screw on the bottom of the pistol grip...tightening it pushes the motor in twards the gears.
i hadto do some jaxxing with it on the M4 this weekend... when i had it properly installed, the motor refused to turn or spin up.. so i loosened the screw 3 or 4 turns and it ran perfect. so i jury rigged a spacer to fit under the baseplate....gun runs fine now.
edit: thought of something else...could be your tappet plate spring...not pushing BB's into the breech correctly.

I don't happen to have an owners manual, but I will check out my motor, and if a tightening or loosening of the hex doesn't work, then I'll probably check out the air nozzle again. Thanks for all the input also, I don't exactly know what a tappet plate is that pushes in the bbs, please enlighten me on where that is , sorry if I sound stupid, but I don't usually memorize the names of the pieces that I mess with, I just basically know how to put it together and take it apart correctly

tappet plate is the black piece that attaches to the air nozzle. gear pulls it back, spring pulls it forward, chambering a BB.
edit: and it's alright...we all know that Bigmack knows all about Airsoft. ;D

thank you Bigmack , yes, I have had problems with that, where it was not attached to the nozzle, and it wouldn't load bbs, I hope it didn't fall off again, but that may just be the problem, Keller helped me fix that damn thing three times already. Is there a way that tappet plates can get stripped? It just seems to fall after I put it in the groove and everything. Anyways, it will be about two weeks til I can go back, take a look at it and possibly fix it because its not with me right now, thanks again for the information
