Doh@realism. Salsa, yeah, I don't use hicaps at all, they are just too fake for me. Oh well, once I can give it back to you, I'll try MD Airsoft for some lowcaps.

Hmm that guy with the rifle looks very, very similar to the retired delta operative in Combat Missions.

Hehe yeah I was thinking of that too, but he has a certain facial structure that doesnt match the Delta guy. I'm pretty sure that the guy with the rifle in that is a Philpine soldier, who is working with the Americans.

A paint sceme? It'll be tough...but it'll look pimp if it comes out.
A good hint is to wash then sand the body before painting, then use flat-black primer. Since it's sandable primer you can always sand it a little to give it a dull look. I HATE the charcole black plastic grips and grey receiver. The contrast is what kills the gun.

Yeah, I was interested in doing the same on my M16...but I didn't have enough confidence in my work. I sold it before I did something stupid.
What color did you paint your Sig?

GAH!!! Well I was putting on the olive drab coat today and I was using a coat hanger wire to suspend the butt stock in the air so I could paint all around it, well I dropped it onto my dirty garage floor! ACK! Though I cleaned it up as best I could I don’t think its gonna be that noticeable. Anyway. I am masking for the camo pattern now, should have pictures tomorrow sometime.

You should have left the dirt on it Viking! It would have helped it blend in better out in the woods

Hey, I know this is dregging an old post up and all, but I just wanted to tell ya, nice job on the paintjob.
BTW, if you ever wanna see a real M4, just let me know and we can arrange something. I'll see if I can get my friends digital to get me some decent pictures of it.
Your black color is a bit dark, but I think that is only because you have a smooth paint on there and the real is not paint, it is a fuzzy coating.
Great job though....

Hey Vitalis, no prob bringing up the old post, I don't think anyone minds (looks around to duck flying spitwads).
About the paintjob: it's actually less dark than it looks. The black paint blends in perfectly with the foregrip, pistol grip, and retractable stock. I'd like some input from Bigmack, Hado, Viking, Ballista, Robo, Ed, anybody who I've played with, they've seen it. The black paint blends in perfectly with the foregrip, pistol grip, and retractable stock.
Now about the M4: my friend's dad is a retired Washtenaw Sheriff who still works for the force, but in the dispatch center. He gave me a tour when I was really interested in policing and SWAT teams a couple years back, and gave me a VIP tour of the armory. Whahahaa. Got to hold a real AR15 (civilian M16), Benelli M1, and...yes...M4 with tactical flashlight. I remember holding it to this day, and that's what inspired me to paint the Airsoft version. The black on the real-steel M4 is a lot less glossy, and I used model paint that doesn't shine at all on the upper and lower receivers.
By the way, my M4 with the battery and front handgrip feels about the same weight as the real steel, which I really like.

well, seeing as how you asked for opinions, yeah, the paint job does look really great. You're right, it blends in perfectly with the rest of the gun.
