Hey, I am going to buy an AK-47, and over time, i want to make it...origional. So many people have stock AK's that without any modification, you are just one of a pack. My last post was about sticking a short beta spetsnaz high cap onto the fulll size ak and adding a scope. I am wondering what options there are to changing the AK's appearance drastically without requiring an external battery (like the dragunov). Is it possible to find just the barrel and wood front handguard of the Dragunov? Real wood sounds good, since i'm not interested in painting the furnature, but that costs $150 + and the could easilly be enough to add a 3-9x40 scope. I am interested in accuracy, range and appearance (and i kinda like a lot of noise ). If you guy's know of any good conversion kits or stand-alone upgrades that i might be interested in, please tell me. Also, please look at my last post (the one about AK mags). Thanks 8)

I have nothing else to say...
Just use zip ties, AK Dude, like me! I have an 8.4V 1700 mAh battery ziptied underneath the foregrip on my M4, works perfectly, just needs a lil' luvin' now and then. ;D
By the way...I reattached the front handgrip (RIS type) on the M4 tonight, using a new method. Will post pictures ASAP, probly tomorrow.

Can you put an AK typpe battery in the gun if i used a carrot stock? that might work, but what is the max spring that thing can support with a rate of fire still over 600 rpi? Any other mods you know of? Thanks

AK47 (not S or Spetz) owners out there: does the covering on the top of the gun (the part that is removable) have battery connectors in there? The AK47s does, that's how the battery is held in there, but does the regular AK have them? If there are connectors in there, an AK battery could be housed.

It would be a very simple thing to just rewire an AK so that the battery connectors came out in the upper receiver's hollowed out portion.... check around on ASZ or airsoftplayers, as I'm sure I've read about people doing it.

there's no problem doing that....the V2 and 3 gearboxes are simple to re-route the wires in...
the Spetz does not have connectors in the top. i checked it on Eddie's.
i doubt that the full size AK does either....same reciever and all...probly off the same line...just different furniture.

So...about the ak47 s...the stock stinks, i've heard that, but if i remove it immediatly and wait to get a carrot d stock, you guys think that would work? What about the holes in the receiver for the stock, could those be removed if i added a mettal lower receiver (aftermarket)? And also, it the carrot d stock wood?
Thanks

I don't know about you, but I think the metal folding AK-47s stock is pretty damn cool. To me, it beats the wooden one out of the water, then you can also fold it or just take it off, and have a CQB weapon with no stock at all (like I did for a while), or you can of course put on the dragonov stock as well. The only shitty problem with the AK-47s is that the sling mount is just about useless, I put a sling on there twice, and since there are such shitty screws holding everything together, i've had it drop twice, once in my room and once in the mud, ripping off the side sling mount. I just took some time and replaced every screw with a larger one, and locktighted all of them for maximum hold, but I'm still not gonna use my sling for it. Edit: added picture of my AK-47s with rest of guns Sorry the pictures a bit BIG I have a 9 cell battery in dis bitch, all I'm trying to say is that you just can't rule out the AK-47s also, if anyone wants the sling thats in the photo, I bought it for $22, its only about a month old, I'll sell it for $18, real leather too

HMMM...thanks for the warning. Here are my two choices, and I will act on one as soon as I decide: 1) - AK-47 s ($250) -> dragunov -Asgd Meda SVD Kit ($200) -TN upgraded barrel ($70) (by the way, which barrel would fit the Dragunov length outer barrel) -Guarder Dragunov flash supppressor ($55) -Scope, mount + rings ($160) -Two high cap AK mags (short versions) ($60) -Two AK batteries ($60) =$855 (without internal upgrades) 2) - AK-47 ($250) -> sharpshooter rifle - Guarder Dragunov flash suppressor ($55) - Scope, mout + rings ($160) - TN upgraded AK barrel ($70) - 1 High cap AK mag ($40) - 2 8.4v Large packs ($70) =$595 (without internal upgrades) By the way, I only have $275 to spend right now, though I will get around $750 at the end of the summer. I don't expect any help from parents for my Birthday, since they hate this entire sport. Remember, this is my first gun, (if i go with the dragunov option, probably my only gun). So up for debate... !) Under my present situation, what is the most sencible option 2) How good is the AK47 s stick battery 3) Are there any other options 4) Are there any changes I should make to the current option 5) Should I say screw it and go for the SR-16 All help is appreciated, Thanks
