Well my real steel affections lie with the AR-15 (civilian M4), so naturally my airsoft likings swing that way too.
In fact I have two airsoft guns that replicate my real steel AR's, One carbine, and one "varminter" version.
But in airsoft I felt I was lacking a real small backup weapon that would have a high rate of fire, be very light and not get in the way of my primary weapon.
So I naturally looked at the MP5K-PDW, but this would require carrying 2 kinds of mags (M4 & MP5) So I was not content, and one night I started playing around with the idea of a "small" M4. I have done numerous cosmetic upgrades on my 2 M4's to get them to the configurations they are in today, so I had a few parts leftover and I started putting them together and at the end of it all I think I have arrived at something that will work.
*DRUM ROLL*
Enter the M4B1-PDW
;D ;D <------- (probable mixed responses)
Now I know there will probably be more refinements, as time goes on, but I think it will work for now.
The battery is a custom "jointed" stick battery that slips into a pocket on the sling, which is attached to the swivel at the back of the gun. the other "slingless" option lays a standard ak stick battery in a tube along the left side of the gun, parrallel to the scope rail, custom clips hold the tube to the scope rail & keep it all secure. I like the sling version, cuz generally I will always have it hooked to a sling.
Oh and yes, although I haven't seen one, I am sure someone else has arrived at this variant already.
But this one is MINE! hehehehe
