I have an AK-47 with a Large Sanyo 9.6v 3000 mah battery. The problem is it won't fit inside without modifying the stock. I have cut the fuse box out but it looks like it needs more modification to fit in there. Does anyone know how to do this?

I've worked on my fair share of AK47 (grr!) and I might be able to help.
There are some plastic "spacers" inside the gun that divide the wires from the battery space...could you carve that out, maybe with a dremel? If you don't know what I'm talking about...there's plastic inside the stock that divides the wires that come out of the mechbox and connect to the battery...if you cut some of that out...you could reposition a larger battery somehow in there.
Just an idea.

Well in case any of you were wondering I did it. I took cut out the fuse box and sanded the edges down. I then cut three of the grooves that keep the stock from going into two pieces. I then removed two of the center bits. Unfortunetly the battery still wouldn't fit so on the side where you attach two screws I had to drill a hole. In order to make the battery fit it needs to go partially through this hole. Eventually you need to take out one of the screw holes but the stock will still stay steady with only two screws. Then you just connect the fuse to the battery and force the battery down. It is very hard to get it to fit and took me about five tries. Just put the butt plate on and your done and to think some people complain about how hard it is to fit a 8.6 v battery inside. One downside is it is hard to take out the battery I recommend keeping it in the gun while charging because it is a pain to get in and out.
