Well I FINALLY put the MP5 back together. I went out side to see if it would fire. Problem 1: It only allows the mag to get in about half way, but wont secure it. Problem 2: When I fire the gun it makes a long, loud SCRREEECCCHHHH... Any ideas on whats wrong? I'm thinking of sending it to Airsoft Toys to be fixed... Any help is appreciated.

#1: Possible mis-seated mechbox.
#2: I am 100% sure that your motor is not touching the gears correctly, that's what's causing the problem.

screech=bad. screech=what i heard at LKA's field that caused me to get my upgrades due to the fact that my gears were totaled...you can ask Hado for verification on this... but...like Newman said...it doesn't sound like the motor is seated properly. not meshing with the gears in the gearbox fully. edit: if worse comes to worse, i do have an MP5 gearbox and motor here... so you don't need to fret too much.

The flaw i see in Newman's first theory is that we [newman and A] know that with my gun, it won't go back together when the mechbox isn't seated in the right place. It could be different with yours, sick. TM did decide to change the mag release from the A and sd series to the K/PDW (lousy TM!).
for the second one, you might need to tighten or loosen the motor plate on the grip. Check to make sure you have the washer in there. You may also have to adjust the hex screw, but don't get into that without checking some forums like ASP to see what they have to say about it.

Jeff, I don't get how my theory about the "possible mis-seated mechbox" has a flaw when you said that, "it won't go back together when the mechbox isn't in the right place". I'm a little confused ( ). Probably all we need is a one-word change on one of our sides, maybe I miswrote something, heh.

I think Jeff meant that, if the 'box was out of place, the gun wouldn't have gone back together far enough for it to be test fired. I could see that happening if it was majorly out of place.

yeah, Minky nailed it. that's pretty much exactly what i meant. remember how we couldn't get my gun together all the way when the mechbox was misaligned? All i did was adjust that and it went together perfectly.

Gotcha now, Jeff, that's what I thought originally, then reread your post and got confused.
Richard, maybe take a picture of the MP5 and show us all of the sides and the internals?

When we upgraded my gun last week we had the same problem.
Easily fixed though. Everything went together find, but the piston was turned off of its guides within the mechbox. So it wouldn't move.
straightened that out and everything worked perfectly.
