Is it nice? Prone to failure? Upgradeable? Powerful? I've only held it once at WTS and needless to say I fell in love and debated plunking down my college fund just to take her home. I just want some feed back about it. I dunno much about anything, and I'm gonna need something to bring the Hurt on the rest of Team SOCOM during my try out. I'll buy one used if anyone has one up for sale.

It's a nice gun, especially if it's your first purchase from the MP5 family. About the only thing I don't like about mine is the scope mount base that it came with. It sits very low on top of the gun, meaning that most of your sight picture through any type of optics will be taken up by the front sight. The Aimpoint replica that comes with the gun suffers from this, but is still very usable. If you wanted to put another red dot or a scope on the gun, I would advise you to use high mount rings if possible. Also, there are no batteries for the red dot included with the gun, so make sure you have some money left over to buy some.

Minky actually the sight was designed that way to "highlight" the front post, since they are in the same site plane, they should line up when sighted in, so you can reflex site in low light as well as daytime.
It takes some getting used to, especially if you are used to plain optics, etc....
The Trijicon optics on the SOPMOD use this same setup, hence no flattopped gas block, (retain original M4 sight post)
