I've been thinking about getting a mp5, but I'm kinda worried about the range/accuracy I'll get with this gun. So now I'm wondering if I should spring the extra few bux and get something along the lines of a M16A2, or G3A4. I can't afford a M4A1, so thats outta the picture. What about a XM177E2? I know its kind of an old gun, but the price is very reasonable (five bux more than the mp5 I want!) I was wondering what you guys think about those rifles? Which one would you suggest? Oh, and, I know about the "barrel wobble" on the M16, so thats not an issue.

I have an XM and I think it's a great gun. It has a lot of plastic but after the conversion mine went under it's a lot heavier than a stock XM. Heres what mine looks like now: www.airsoftohio.com/phpBB/files/1044.JPG

I own a MP5A4. I couldn't complain! But the rang is only about 10 feet less than a stock M16, but the M16 is a bit more accuracy. You can spend like 40 for a better spring if your not happy. I have played indoor and outdoor and my gun works like a charm with no upgrades.
Oh and nice job on the XM!

Yah, I think I saw that pic of your XM, tried to remove the putty with sandpaper eh? Thing is, if I got a XM, I wouldn't be able to upgrade it for awhile, actually, I wouldn't be able to do that right away no matter what gun I get. Is the XM a good gun stock? arggggg, now I dunno what to do. Who's got his ears now?

My poo.
I think udgrading AEGs is silly..........primarily because I never have enough money to do it. Oh and almost everybody who gets into airsoft wants thier gun upgraded before they even get it.

Hey man, I hear yah, I hardly have enough money to do anything. And I'm not one of "those people". I don't go all crazy, wanting the best everything for something, before I even acquire that something. Its pointless, and all it does is get you into trouble.

The XM will perform pretty much the same as any other carbine length gun.
Keep your first gun stock. how would you even know what you need to upgrade it for? maybe you'll like frontal assault role, so high fps won't matter much and you want to put as many bbs on your target as possible. maybe you'll like to sit back and pick your shots carefully, so you'd want to up the fps and accuracy. Get an aeg and play with it first, then buy some upgrades later when you figure out what you need.

Well heres my views on Andy's post:
1. We're not talking about "stocks" as in what you shoulder a rifle with, we are talking about what the AEG comes like without being upgraded in any way. And as for full stocked weapons feeding better... that's just one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. *Sporks Andy*

ah, the sporkā¢, but alas, I digress. I think I know what he's talking about........maybe. I think he's trying to say that a stock gun, with no upgrades, feeds bb's better. Altough, I can't see how that is true.....But I believe he was just saying that in a vain attempt to set himself up to make a joke.....about his ears.....cuase I guess blorfo ripped em off aaahhhhh, the joys of stupidity, I love it I tell you. wookie nookie? mmmmmm coooookie. Ok, but, back to the gun. What about the G3 series? Are those guns any good? I'm mostly interested in the G3A3, the A4's folding stock kinda turns me off. From what I can see, the XM doesn't have to much more than a MP5A4, and the A4 seems like its a tad better in the quality department....but again, I'm just speculating, so, someone please enlighten me here. So if I had to choose between the XM and the A4, its a tossup. I like the way a assault rifle looks, but I also like the look of a SMG. ARGGGGGGG decisions decisions......Oh yah, can you get a metal barrel for the XM? I know you can for the A4, and I really like that, plastic barrels are a nono for me, very much so. I've been spoiled with rifled metal barrels for airguns.
