ok ok. im new to this board, my normal home is at www.redcorps.com on those message boards were im known as RED_Kitty. *Im a guy, name is clan joke.*
i was originally into paintball, when i fell inlove with counterstrike i started wanting somethign more realistic. well i found at a trade center around my area an airsoft booth. i purchased my first airsoft guns, 2 barettas and an mp5, all spring. not knowing any one else around to play with, naturaly me and my dad had some quality time together in our nice GIANT back yard. *i live in suburbia, and our house has the biggest back yard on the block, so it suits some niced sized arisoft games. with some palets and carboard boxes, i can get an intense deathmatch going, with 3 or 4 man teams.* well it resulted in a nice welt on my finger, and one on his lip. being a paintball player, im very used to welts.

i began looking for other players at my school. a couple kids had gass guns, but their parents took them after they removed the orange tips. another kid just plain lost his. *this happend to me too, somehow i lost my silver springer m9.*

finding no one to play with, i slinked off and just shot paper plates.

one fine day, one of the other airsoft kids at school sends me a link via msn to ebay, and a picture of the super 9 sniper riffle. i realy didnt care for the spring gun, being most spring guns i have had have broken somehow. *i aquired a glock later, all the spring pistols have broken. the mp5 is still holding tough, even though i dont use it for shooting bb's any more. its just a toy now. for sneaking aorund my house, and letting my dad know just how dead he would be if i was a seal.* so i did a search for airsoft, and i found some randome junk. so i did a yahoo search for full auto airsoft. i find airsoft zone, and the first gun that pops up to my supprize then, *Not now* is an mp5. well i also just bought mgs2. so since i had metal gear on the brain i see FAMAS SCREAMING out at me. so i cheak it out. full auto aeg, all the specs cheack out nicely. so i go back to the little airsoft booth in the trade center. he will order a version of the famas, but not the TM one wich i want. *being i was a noob then, i heard that TM was the best from a freind, and took their word for it* i found a TM site, the famas was 300 or so bucks. and it would take forever to get. so i weant to ebay, and searched. to my luck, there is some guy selling his TM famas, with a free 4000 .2g bb's and springer back up pistole. *the silver one i ended up loseing* and it was all going for 275. *a good deal back when the gun was still 3 to 4 hundred. now its only 200* so i bid, win, and now i have it. i was amazed at how its shoots 14bb's per second. i love the gun. so my next investment was a backup pistole worthy of fireing along side of it. i found it in the m9 tactical eddition. *forget what company* its a gass blowback pistol.

now, my famas is getting bulkier and bulkier to run with.
not that i cant carry it, its actualy a good cary, snub but still very acutare. but it getts anoying in close quarters. so, im looking into a new gun. my options are simple, but depend on my frame of mind.

i want a close quarterd weapon.

that is easy to swing around corners and aim quick

that is a fast rapid fireing weapon.

that has burst fire *optional depending on gun*

that is still accurate at longer ranges

and that is unique.

in other words, i dont want an mp5, or a colt m4a1. to many people have them from what ive seen online. so i was thinking about an aug or a p90, well even though the aug is a sweet gun, it still would seem to small in my hands, *im 6'2" and im 16, hehe, yea i still sneak around my house and let my dad know just how dead he would be* also my famas is a bulpup, and i want something that loads differently. so the choices that i have come up with are as follows.

mp5 *dont realy want to be repetative, but it holds the close combat, burst fire, and accuracy.*

colt *its small, looks cool, im used to teh weapon, loads differently than famas, has good accuracy, but repetative*

p90*fast fireing, looks very unique, VERY easy to swing around and aim fast, good carry. built solid, and from metal gear solid. problem, and the only problem, it may look unique, but every site when they came out had to be backorderd because everyone was buying them.*

sg551*unique, good accuracy, has burst settting that you chose, folding stock so you can use it in close quarters, loads diff than bulpup, and feels rugged to boot. (not as rugged as an ak would, but still )

if there are any oppinions on what gun i should get, or any suggestions on difffernt ideas, that would be nice.

my next buy after a close/ long range is going to be a sniper riffle, but i alwready know what i want. an awm...
;D well realy now, i think for my sniper choice, ill find a g3, or a sig550. the sig 550 is awsome. *the actual guns here i mean, not sure about the airsoft versions.*

again, suggestions would be most appreaciated, sorry about the long post though.

Don't worry about a long post, we've all been known to be quite long winded at times.

Ok, well you seem to already know that pretty much all stock TM AEG's preform about the same with a the variances being barrel length, physical size, etc, so i'll lay off of that point.

Really, anything else is up to how you like the looks of the gun.

Any of the guns you mentioned would be fine. Another option would be the MC-51. It's carbine lengthed, a little shorter than an M4, it has a retrackting stock, so you can make it nice and compact for CQB, it has a good sized mag, hicap or standard, and it's fairly unique. Not a lot of people own them. You can attach a full stock to it for a large battery if you so desire, and it still looks pretty good and it's still pretty compact.

You won't find teh aug too compact, it's a good midsized weapon that pretty much anybody can feel comfortable holding. Of course you said you didn't want a bull pup, but if it comes down to it, comfort shouldn't be an issue with the aug.

I could see problems with the p90 however, it's quite the little gun. i could never use it, my fingers on opposite hands touched while holding it, and that's just not comfortable to me. I'm 5'11'' [ish]. A guy on my team is about 6'4''-5'' and he dwarfed the P-90. If you can though, get out to a game where somebody will have onea to really check it out and see if you like it. The ergonomics of that gun seem to be much more subjective than with other guns.

sigs are the only aegs you'll find with a burst function, i'm not sure if anybody has successfully incorporated it's burst mechanism into another aeg, but it would definetly be a custom job.

I think you've got everything pretty much down, Xavier, in terms of what you're looking for.

I'd suggest also thinking about battery size while looking at the AEGs. I don't regret buying an M4, but after all of the hours reconfiguring it to take an external battery (I've done it three times now, after trying out two V batteries that fit in the foregrip and then either giving them back or having a bad battery) I think I should have just bought a more expensive custom battery or an SR16 initially.

What about the HK G36C when it comes out? Its not to big, not to mention a folding stock. Or how about the AK Beta Spetz (sic) Maybe even a MP5 RAS, thats not nearly as comman as a mp5 a4 or a5.

I too once owned a P90, and being a little over 6' I can attest to how short it feels shouldered. It's a nice replica though, and if you continue to use something else as your primary, the P90 would be an excellent CQB alternative.

actually jdl_9th I think some ICS MP5's have a burst option, only 3 round burst though. Not sure though

o i saw it on ebay once, this dude was seling an mp5a4 with a burst feature and the lower receiver had the semi, fully auto, safe and 3 round burst. it went for about $400.

That would be a JAC. A now defunct airsoft company. I beleive hadoken has one.
