To any airsoft game in general or one's hosted to ACO? I've seen ACO get up to 100+ players in a game but I've also seen some games where only 30-40 show up. ACO is really known for having great ops and good, fair people to play with. It would be wise to spectate in one of their games ( make sure to bring a pair of paintball goggles). This is the number one board to go to if your a Michigan airsofter or someone looking for information on the sport. You'll find some awesome resourses on this board when it comes to questions or shopping, just don't ask a bunch of questions that most people already have thrown out there. It would be wise to dig around for details before you ask. Make sure to read the newbie's threads stickies. Takes a bit of your time but very good info.
[edit] Towards your second question....They will specify if you require certain camo but most of the time they prefer for people just to show up in some kind of camo. I guess if you wanted to you can wear a tshirt and blue jeans if its not specified but most of the time they will prefer you to wear some type of camo as I said before. [/edit]

I was at the last ACO monthy event, namelessbob42, so you may want to check the later end of that thread for information. We had somewhere around 20 players - but don't let the numbers fool you. Some if the most fun I've had in Airsoft has been with just a few players in the right circumstances. I expect that the turnout might be higher at the September event. It should be, anyway - the field is pretty fun.As for uniform requirements, don't worry much. We had people in all sorts of get-up at the last event. Wear whatever your got. If you ask me, the field this event is at might be better for darker-colored BDUs - like tigerstripe, USA woodland, or maybe flectarn - due to the heavy foliage and large amount of shade. There are very little open areas. Weapons? Pretty much any [real] AEG will suffice. Don't have one? ACO offers rentals. Even without an AEG, the intrepid airsofter might do well with a silenced Mk.23 gas gun (or something similar), if you're good at being quiet in the underbrush. Sniper types might have trouble in the thick woodland, but there are bunkers and MG nests that may prove worthy.

I haven't been on the site in quite a while and i was looking at the website for the scenarios and such. Now the AK and M15 A4, are they the only weapons allowed, or are we able to bring our own weapons of choice. I didn't see anything specifically stating that. Just a question I'd thought I'd ask, before venturing to the one of the events.

They're just showing rentals, that's all.

The ACO recreational events will be different than the in-depth events that were once held as a marquee scenario. The recreational events are more like an open opportunity to come out and play a multitude of simple but exciting scenarios for the day. This is a good opportunity for your team to get better playing with and against other teams and networking with other Michigan players. Then, when you are at a major event, you will have some experience under your belt.
The monthy events are intended to help provide a safe place for the Michigan airsoft community to expand, bring new people in and have a larger following. An opportunity to show young and new players how to conduct a level of play that is desired.
Preferred outfit - BDU's, earthtone cargo pants, hiking/tactical boots, earth-tone or camo shirts. No specific camo requirements - wear your favorite camo pattern
If anybody is particular about poision ivy, I would reccommend a long sleeve shirts and gloves.
We encourage to use low capacity mags but if you don't have any, please use your best judgement.
Bring bug repellent.
Bring fluids to keep hydrated.
You may bring any kind of replica you choose.
The field is constantly being improved for more shooting lanes and structures.

How many people ended up going to the last one? I would like to go to this one just to sharpen my skills a bit before another big event but as I just saw on the acoclub site, no one has registered yet for this event. Now, unless people have and you haven't yet put there names up, count me in. But, I would like to know this before I drive 1 hr 1/2 for nothing.

Col. Joker, Your situation is understandable. We will be updating the roster very soon for you to be able to view players that have pre-registered. Please keep in mind if you pre-register, this does not commit you to put any money down beforehand - it only reserves you a space on the field. FIELD IMPROVEMENT UPDATES: Camp One: More firing lanes and another trail has been blazed through the brush to make it harder to ambush the camp. Borders: The south and east sides now have a florescent orange string border for those who may wander off into neverland ;D The ultimate lookout: This improvement has radically changed the woodland trail to the marsh and machine gun nest. It has also opened up an additional 2-3 more acres viable fire fights. At lease one entire acre looks like it has been hit or cut down with heavy machine gun fire. The lookout is located into the elevation of the ridge NW of the machine gun bunker. From here you can see parts of the marsh that you would have never been able to before. Got a support weapon? Perfect place to arch 70+ yard shoots downrange Photos will be posted once the structure is complete.

Dutch,
Thank you for the update. I am aware that pre-registering doesn't 100% commit you to showing up. My only worry was that no one was going to show up. Anyway, thank you once again. Can't wait to see the new improvements. Hope to see you there.

I noticed that this game is also on the same day as one of the two days for the youth hunting season. Will this drastically effect the number of softers at the game? I know that a lot of softers hunt too.
