In the second day of such attacks, bombs have been going off around Michigan.. Police stations, hospitals, and fire stations have taken the brunt of the attack, yet there has been numerous reports of roadside bombs. Citizens have been advised to stay in their homes. Governor Granholm has declared a state of emergency for all of the lower peninsula. Reserve police, National Guard, and U.S. Army forces are being mobilized to combat this threat. Various Terrorist groups are being investigated, including the Michigan Militia.
Saturday, July 16th, 2005
After a hellish week of terrorist activity, finally a culprit has come forth. In a video tape released to the media earlier today, a group by the name of the Michigan Liberation Force has claimed responsibility for the attacks. They also claim to be in open rebellion against an un-just and un-american government.
Little is known about this group, as they are relative newcomers to the scene. Earlier this spring they clashed with law enforcement officials in Northern Michigan. Most of the force escaped, leaving 6 officers wounded and 1 dead. 2 Terrorists were also killed in the clash, according to police.
State-wide, open warfare has begun as american forces surge to the area to quell this rebellion. President Bush today spoke with media and denounced the attacks, stating that the MLF is "just another terrorist group, and one that is targeting not military targets, but civilians." He asks for the support of the american people in combating this threat to America.
As is quite obvious, Forces for this battle will be American vs. MLF. Americans can wear any form of U.S. camo, MLF may wear any form of camo that they want. This includes hunter camo... It's going to be confusing for friendly identification, but that's the idea!
Missions and Objectives are going to include (but arent limited to) a hostage rescue, bomb defusal, and vehicle recovery. This is, of course, on top of the typical force on force fighting ;-)

This will be pretty much as long as people want to go... It's not going to be a 2-day op, but night missions are going to be available to those who want them. As for location, we're not entirely sure which field we want to host it at... They're all in the same general area, so it's not really a problem with directions ;p We will, of course, have exact directions available prior to the op.
By the way - This is just the beginning.... What happens during this operation will affect future operations. Expect this storyline to be expanded at least until winter. *content removed because i'm a moron and like to give away the storyline*

Is there anything extra, or unusual you suggest bringing to this event? Will there be a water source available on sight to fill camelbak's and whatnot? Also will devildog be setting up shop to sell BB's?

If we end up playing at the place that we are trying to get, then I am really not sure at this moment if water will be availible.
And I cannot really say much about the secondary location.

Here is the paypal address for those that wish to preregister: blackmesaairsoft@charter.net As for bb's, they will be available at the OP. I'll be working on the water issue. No matter where we play, I'll make sure water is available. Dehydration makes airsoft play suck! We'll keep you posted on any "extras" you may need to bring with you!

I hate to double post, but due to the extreme lack of interest in attending an event in Michigan, Operation: Liberty is in fear of being cancelled.
If any one is interested in attending, we need you to post pronto!!

I sure hope it's still on. I just wrote my mom a pretty nasty email for planning a family reunion on that day while I'm home on leave. Please tell me I didn't get written out of the will for nothing.
If you don't have a huge event, do you guys still play on sundays?
Anyone know the reason for the lack of interest? Is it the location, too far north?

Well so far, I have no ride. And it's a bit to far north for me.
But we made it to ACO's CQB, roughly the same distance, so hopefully I can convince someone to drive the Maelstrom crew and me up there. But, doesn't look like it will pan out as of right now.

I was also planning on attending, but, like ICE, I didn't want to post until I was 100% sure.

wow... GK and MAC guys coming, that's exactly what I wanted to read when I logged on this morning. Thanks for posting, guys.... the lack of posts was stressing us out a little bit =D
Talon, that stinks man =( I actually planned this op because you said you wanted to play when you came back ;p We'll probably play on sunday too tho, so no worries.
For those that don't know, Talon is one of many over there fighting the good fight in the sandbox. He also happens to be a close personal friend ;-)
