I've never used the mag as a grip; maybe 'cause I have long arms and you're more accurate the farther you grip towards the end of the barrel. Like Viking said, if you choose to hold the gun like in the picture above, the weight is on your hand and you merely use the mag as a brace.

Actually, the closer you have your hands together, and can control the weapon, the more accurate you'll be. When I was into target shooting, and using my elbow to keep the gun up, it was about an inch away from the trigger guard, and I was able to get inch groupings at 50 yards, with 100 yard targets.

Aye, but the 47 is a special case. It's short, and has ridiculously low recoil due to the massive bolt and spring. It all boils down to preference though. One thing that hasn't been mentioned; To shoot full auto, holding the front stock piece is necessary for accuracy.

For full auto, the recoil, and walk up would be real hard to even hold the gun by holding the mag, at least for the ak. On the MP series on the other hand, it is possible.

Okay I see what your saying Severa, one day my mom came out to visit and I let her boy friend hold my MP5A4 (when it was mine and not biggies) and he griped the magazine at almost the bottom of the gun, I just looked at him in a befuddled stare and took my gun away from him.

Change of topic here, back to the leet Russian gizmos, I got my veil today and I have no idea how the heck to tie it on my face to get it like in this photo: The veil was advertised as 6x3 feet but actually looks like its 3x3 feet, grrr. Anyone know of some site that has a little step by step on how to tie… this… thing? Come on I know some of you have been searching for terrorist websites or something where it teach you, come on!
