I use nailpolish remover, or if that doesnt work, then I use a file and scratch off.

I am assuming that the orange tip is a orange flashhider and I am also assuming that your rifle is a TM AEG. If the 2 above are correct, you are going to need a small metric allen wrench because there is a set screw in the flashhider to keep it from coming off. Use the metric allen wrench to take off the screw and then unscrew the flashhider. WATCH OUT, the threads are reversed so its righty loosy.

The threads are also sometimes glued on the TM guns... place the gun barrel down and dab nail polish remover to soften up the glue prior to trying to remove it.
If it's a fixed orange glue, paint over it ;p Xaos used regular black model paint to paint over his... it held up reasonably well, with a few touch-ups every once in a while.

My Teammate got his M16VN with his orage tip glued on. He just took a dremel and cut it off and replaced it with his Metal flashhider. So if you cut it off, be very careful

I guess I got lucky..MY TM M16A2 came with a removable orange tip and also the wrench and the original metal flash suppressor...cool eh???
WHO THE HELL WANTS AN ORANGE TIP??? I have nothing else to say
Thank GOD for CAMO!!
I suppose if you had access to a sandblaster somewhere, you could use it to take the orange off, or at least rought it up so you could repaint it.

If you're under 18, don't you have to have an orange tip? ???That's what some guy at Gibralter said.

No. Its for shipping/retail only.
having or not having one won't make it any more or less legal. It couldn't hurt, in the end to have one...might save you from getting shot.

sorry guys, but your wrong. orange tips are legally required in im pretty sure every state, at the least michigan. this is to prevent stupid people from getting shot by cops after they take off the only thing that makes an otherwise perfect replica look fake. ITS THERE FOR YOUR PROTECTION.

really? Protection, ehh?
Lemme just slap an orange tip on my real steel Bushmaser.
Is that safe enough for you?
Cops don't give a flying fuck about orange tips. You have a rifle with one, you act agressively... That officer is going to pump 3 .40 S&W EFMJ rounds into your chest.
And no. Orange tips are required until the weapon is sold...unless its stated specifically in your municipality that orange tips are required.... Like Warren, where all replicas are prohibited if i'm remembering correctly.

No, I'm sorry. Orange caps may not do anything for you if you're waving an airsoft gun around cops. Bigmack could paint the tip of his Bushmaster orange, but that doesn't mean 5.56 rounds aren't going to fly out of it. In Michigan, they're required for shipping/selling only.
Damn, Biggie beat me to it.

OK, i sell airsoft....cops randomly come into the store to check them out.I was talking with a couple of them about the orange tips and what the result would be if a peson was found with an airsoft gun w/o an orange tip. the result: (if it was gas powered) would be a charge with possesion of a handgun....they would charge you as if it were a REAL gun (it has something to do with the way the bb is fired...i do not recall the full details) Don't believe me? call up your local police and ask about it A new law also went into effect on the first of Jan this year, that requires us to do NICS background checks on some high powered BB and Pellet guns

Fail to see how an airsoft gun is 'high powered'...especially a pistol.
