Well, Obviously the most widely used airsoft sniper rifle would be one of the APS 2 models. I can't say anything truely bad about these guns, as they are great guns, and since they've been out for quite some time, you have a variety of upgrades and modifications available at your disposal. However, I am partial to the M series, I used to own a M40 ~ 450FPS, and I now have a M24 Shooting well over 500. I can't say that I've had many problems with any airsoft sniper rifle I've used in the past. However, one thing to remember that any stock "sniper" rifle you buy is not going to outrange an AEG out of the box. They require time and money to get them to be performing at a "sniper" level. Really everyone is going to have their own preference on here... some saying some are better than others because they may have different past experiences. It boils down to this: If you really want to snipe and you want to take the time and money to invest in it, then by all means get what you think you'll like... afterall airsoft isn't just for competition, it's also for enjoyment and fun. P.S. ... Speaking of Airsoft Sniping... I'm back in the circle now that I have my M24 and have it all upgraded heh - Grunt

The APS2 series is great, but the look and feel of the M24 is much more realistic. If I wanted to start over again with a bolt action, I would choose the M24 with fluted barrel. Quite a bit more realistic and just as functional.

You will have a little bit more difficult time getting your AEG to have the bb pushing power that an upgraded, tuned bolt action has. I know... I've been there, done that, and talked to others who've tried the same. And, you must be prepared to spend more money if you decide to go the SR-15/AR-10/SR-25 route. I spent double the amount of money building my SR-25 compared to my APS2. However, your AEG can provide even more realism than a nicely equipped bolt action. Take this SR-25 for example: miairsoft.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=commerce&action=display&n=1&thread=10274This looks exactly like a real steel SR-25, except for the length of the receiver. At the time I put this together the G&P SR-25 metal receiver was not available. Now it is, which would make this thing virtually indistinguishable from the real weapon. Look closely... if it weren't for the incorrect markings it would be hard to tell the difference now. And the weight of this thing is only ounces from the real steel. You want to know why Bigmack pointed to me? It is because he has seen this thing and knows it is the real deal. I even modified it to shoot semi-auto only. It will throw bb's down range, as quick as you can line up the sights and pull the trigger (repeatedly). If you need to take the quick follow-up shot, this is the gun that will get it done. Would I recommend building a killer Stoner variant? Absolutely... but there are pro's and con's to every decision.

Well Biggie...it's not for lack of writing a two pager Though I've not much Sniper/Sniper weapon experience, I was able to hold an M24 once a long time ago, and was smitten. That would be my recommendation for a purchase, though I can give you nary the techinical or professional reasons why, besides the fact it was cool looking. If I were to choose being a sniper in Airsoft, I would look to what frostee has, then get exactly that

Don’t forget about the incorrect width of your beautiful SR25.
