Note this story is just to explain what happened not in quite detail.
6/19 14:02 A game was to be played that would most likely turn the tables on my friends.
After playing some Xbox 360 Rainbow Six Vegas, we formed a circle deciding what we were to do for are next game. I don't know why but everyone said that I the one in the ghillie suit be alone and the rest of the people try to hunt me down. Are hits would add up, I would get a total of 4 hits, which means my friends would get 1 hit each. So in short terms, it was a 1v4.
My load out was a UTG L96 Sniper Rifle, Woodland Ghillie suit, 2 Mags of ammunition, and a speed loader. The playing field is approximately 5 acres which gave me a lot of places to hide, especially with the summer time, the foliage was fully grown. I was given 5 minutes to find an appropriate spot. Knowing that it takes quite awhile to find a good place to hide and cover yourself up I ran to where ever, the swamp area was a perfect spot.
My first instinct was to move to a safe spot with a lot of foliage and surrounding logs. When I didn't expect it, out of my right ear, I heard sticks crunching, I ran halfway up the hill and saw Angelo (armed with ECHO g36) and his cousin (brandon) armed with a VSR-11. I waited till they were in range of my sniper and crawled to the left when there heads started to face my way I covered my face mask up to prevent glare. Since it was just those two, I knew the opposition had split up into two squads. Suddenly they stopped and crouched down to talk about what they were going to do. I took this opportunity and took a shot at brandon, it was a hit. Dazed and confused he said HIT and was out, Angelo right next to him was shocked to see a early out and the last thing he heard was me pulling back on the bolt and chambering another round and a puff!
Since Chris (UTG M324) and Stephen (UTG M324) heard these outs, they knew I was over on the hill. I knew this as well and moved down the hill behind some high grass. I knew I had to play the waiting game and I knew exactly where they were going to walk. So I hid in a ditch surrounded by leaves, once Stephen walked into my cross hairs, I was about to take a shot but a leave was in the way so I brushed the sweat off my forehead and swatted the annoying mosquitoes (I had bug spray) and waited, waited about 10 minutes till he was in my clean cross hairs. In the distance there was construction going on, and it was quite loud as the machines were blowing there horns every once and awhile.
Inspired by several movies like Enemy at the Gates, every time the horn blew I took a shot, one hit Chris. He was out, barely skimming him however. Stephen knew the specific area I was in but didn't see me so he started blind firing into the area, I calmly went into a low prone and slid my body across the leaves, the leaves were wet enough not to make those crunch noises, perfect for stalking. While he was still shooting in the proximity I snuck up behind him about 20 feet away and took a shot to his arm. He was out.
So tips for Snipers or for anyone else,
Be patient
Concentrate
Camoflague works
My friends used to say "Thats stupid of you to waste your money on a ghillie suit.) Then it evolved to (It only works at night) Now it's at the point of (It works).
During all of that game I had not been fully discovered once, and I had not wasted a single shot. I feel proud of myself.
