Ok this isnt exactly a tale of valor. Its more like a tale of wow that would suck to be you. Mods, if you feel that this shouldnt be here then feel free to move it to the appropriate board.
Ok so there I was at the Armory Airsoft monthly CQC event. Our Objective was to find the hostage, and safely extract them to the dining room. We found the hostage somewhere in the basement. I got the call that we had the hostage so my friend Javier and I moved towards the top of the ramp to give suppressive fire so we could safely move the hostage. Javier starts giving me cover fire so I could move to the closest cover to me which happend to be a half inch thick GIANT wooden board. While Javier was covering me I rushed to the board and slid into position. I change my magazine and reload my other one while sitting with my back against the board. Now Im ready to rock. I turn to look over the board at the opposing force and OH SHIT! My shoulder hit the board and the entire thing fell. Now im sitting there and my cover is completely gone. I turned and looked only to see 8 enemy guns and an M29 SAW pointing right at me. So reaction took over and I did a weird spiderman roll to the nearest cover. Bad idea. The closest cover shouldnt have even been used as cover. It was a pallet about half a foot high with some stuff on it about another half a foot high. So I lied down flat on my stomach which was the only position I could be in if I didnt want to be shot. I was on my stomach for a good 5 minutes without being able to move or fire back. So after 5 minutes of lying on my stomach they finally got me in my leg. What a crappy way to go.
It was quite funny if you were there to see it. Some guy running to cover only to have it collapse and reveal you to the entire opposing team and then having to lie completely flat on your stomach for 5 minutes just to get shot in the end. What a waste of effort.
I wish there was video of this because it would be so much funnier if you guys were able to see it. Anyways, thats my story.
