God, those pics scare me... I was thinkin of comming up to an event some time, but now that I think of it, I'll stick to my good old stock AEG friends. Those pics remind me of my drivers training and industrial first aid classes Or maybe I'll just wear my P-ball mask when I come...

Ahh it's not that bad, you shouldn't take hits that hard from that close at any MIA game. You really don't have to worry to much, I took a shot to the neck last weekend, and it wasn't to bad nothing lasting, no mark or anything now. Not sure what kinda gun it was, since I never saw the shooter(could have been friendly fire:) we had allot of that) but it's not to bad, if you feel the need wear full face protection, but I always shed mine for goggles since it gets to freaking hot. This winter I may use a paintball mask though, we'll see.

I wear a paintball mask and it isn't that bad. I have also used a combination of goggles and a ski mask. If you want something to wear on your face I would advise you to use a paintball mask. You could also get a paintball mask with detachable goggles and use them if you don't feel you need the mask portion.

You shouldn't fire at somebody's head PERIOD. Even if they have a full-face paintball mask on you should go for a body-shot. It's A LOT safer.

That is not always the case, people arent going to just stand out in the open and let you shoot at them, they will hide, usually in a place with good cover and very little body open for a shot, you have to shoot at either the head or arms in most cases

Actually abou the head shot there is two things to that. One nine out of ten people I have seen in a fire fight. don't use sights or not well in intense longer range firefights. getting hit in the face or head happens whether you try to or not, but yes avoiding it when possible is usallya good thing. However at BCD2 I intentionally shot a kid in CQB in the side of the head. Reason was I was really close and I could either shoot him in the skin 15 feet away by the jugular or shoot his hard plastic helmet where all heard could do was hear the snap of the round hitting it. In that case I thought it was safer to shoot a helmet than bare skin on the side of the neck. But yes intentional face shots can be bad so don't do it if you don't have too. Just call your hits so people don't have to start targeting your face.

yea goggles are a life saver! I heard a story about a kid at a paintball place that lifted his mask off cause it was starting to fogg up and he got it in the eye and was blind in one eye. OUCH!!! That proves that even if you have the goggles...you must wear them and use them properly!

Even without proof it must be done. Though I have found that if I do fog and have to call a cease fire, the people my age are more willing to understand that means stop shooting immediatly. Damn paintballer kids. I will elaborate this story in a bit, but it involved me loosing my mask in a game, just the other day.

EDIT: Story
Me and my brother were playing against about 4 paintballers, they were standing in my nice bunkers on the field throwing paint everywhere. 2000 rounds, and I got hit once and my brother twice. So we were advancing on the bunkers and staying low since there was paint shooting above us(they weren't even aiming at all) as I moved in, my brother low crawled to the right to pop up and take a shot while I was a diversion, so he crawled over. And when he got in position, I stood up made about a 15 foot dash and dove onto my back(as to not fall on my gun:)) and when I hit the ground being shot at by the entire other team(I was about 25 feet from the bunkers at this point) my goggles fell off the top of my head as I hit the ground, they were on tight but the impact knocked them off. So here I am on the ground no eye protection(they had rolled about 3 feet ahead of my head) and paintballs shooting like mad above me. So I called a cease fire. And covered my damn eye's with my hands, just to try and not get shot by these kids. So they stopped after I yelled it a dozen times. Now, my brother is up trying to figure out whats going on and if I was hurt about 25 feet back from me. And whats the stupid ass kid in the bunker do but start shooting at him, while I'm trying to put my goggles back on. Needless to say they are not coming back to the field. Lifetime ban, I was freaking irate. It's kids like that that will get someone injured quick. When I play with my brother and other people, not a problem, they understand that I wouldn't call a cease fire without an emergency. Ahhh just bugs the hell out of me still. So none the less, I would trust someone my own age long before younger, just my opinion.

A kid at my cuzzis school got shot in the eye with an airsoft gun when his friend was showing it to him. He might go blind, know one really knows yet. But this also shows that u can't keep a loaded airsoft gun and you should always have the barrel plug on along with the safty set. This kid wasn't playing in a match, just his dumbass friend shot him by accedent. These kids are only 11 at most. Hope this kid who got shot gets his full eye sight back.

That smart? That may be giving them too much credit. But then again, if the parents of an 11-year-old are buying him an airsoft gun, maybe it's not the kids that are the dumb ones...

*nod* Stupid parents lead to stupid kids.
If you don't have the time to teach your child right and wrong...and a little bit of common sense (granted, it's not all that common anymore), then, FFS, don't have a goddamned kid.
Personally, I grew up seriously scared of guns. I learned to respect them, and eventually, how to handle them properly. It's too bad guns are so evil and bad...it sure would be nice if more young people understood proper gun safety. I wouldn't even have considered airsoft at 11, and you can be damned sure my parents wouldn't have purchased a gun for me. *sigh* People suck.
