OP: Wolverine Fury
21:00 hours, Full moon
Objective: Collect Intel one and two (glow sticks)
NFA have heavily fortified there positions on a strong point on a very large wooded hill. Our U.S. force was divided into 3 squads with around 12 guys in each, give or take a few. One squad was going in the center of the assault. Another was the left flank and I was in the 3rd assault squad on the right flank. The left and right squads job was to flank the enemies position with a firefight opened up.
Our patrol started on a large wide path until we reached the middle of the area. So were moving farley quickly and all of a sudden the guy in front of me puts his fist up so I stopped and did the same it stop the guy behind me. Lucky there was a man (Dan) with some Russian gen. 2 night vision. We had to send him out to see if there were NFA at the bottom of the hill. About 15-20 minutes of waiting Dan comes back ad talks to Gabe (The U.S. commander and my current squad leader) with a map and a dull light for about 10 minutes the new orders are to start going down this hill to the bottom of the tree line. There were lots of trees and a lot of us got separated with our main squads. I knew it was vital that I stayed with my squad. I was rear security with Nate L. We got to the tree line and was preparing to execute the leap frog maneuver because we expected heavy resistance were we had to cross. It was an open field that was about 30-40 yards to the other tree line. We had expected for the enemy to be positioned where we were crossing. We got the signal from Gabe and we were shot out from our cover expecting to have a hail of BBs hose us down. My heart was pounding and we reached the other side. We turned around and saw that only half of our team crossed the open ground. I told the squad to hold here as I run across the ally of death and saw Robert and he and I gathered about 3 or 4 people. Again I had to cross the field one more time. I darted across trying not to make a sound and reached our squad to see only Robert followed me back. As I got back we somehow got separated with the main assault force. Now there about seven of us. Gabe had a change in plans and told us to stay tight. He took off and went back to the other side to the top. There we huddled around Gabe for new instructions. There now was 5 of us. We decided to all the way around instead of a head on attack. Nearly pitch black with a full moon due to the dense trees. We double timed it good 1000 feet to the other side of the game area. We took a dense path across the same field (long stretch of open ground for large power lines).
Now deep into enemy territory we could hear and see French bright lights of a farley large patrol coming our way about 30 yards from us. We darted to the sides of the path to escape the illumination of the lights. Gabe then told us which is only Nate , Robert, Nate Layle, And my self, Andy Weiss to only fire after he fires. The patrol soon passed us and we continued on the path to way point 9 which is where the first intel location. About 20 yards right behind the NFA strong point. We are on our way when two more NFA patrol came strait for us. They were about 10-15 feet away and were about to literally walk right on top of us. We were ready to light these guys up any second now. When suddenly they turn off the trail and walk passed us at an angle. We don‘t know what made them turn. We eventually got the first objective and was about 20-30 feet from the NAF main defence force(about 15-20 men). We grabbed the glow sticks and decided to go true spec ops and get back to base camp with out any contact but we did discuses killing them all. On the way back there was a patrol on our six and a lot of them. They still didn’t know the glow sticks. Gabe told me to take the team back to the base. So I took off with the 4 of us and we soon found us turned around in the dark trail. It wasn’t that we got lost, it was a mater of do we turn here or later on the path. Robert told me that Gabe went for the other glow sticks. The patrol was there about 30 seconds after Gabe. Seconds later we heard Gabe’s M4 open up with sounds of people saying “HIT HIT”! We made it back to base camp with out finding Gabe or the glow sticks so we assumed he has them. We arrived at base camp about 2 and a half hours later to find Gabe safe and sound. The U.S. won that mission with dominating success!
I really appreciate any buddy reading this. You really have to be there to feel the effect of this mission. If Nate Layle, Robert, Gabe, or the other Nate have something I missed please let me now. I “type” the story in my head before I type it on my computer so sometimes I miss things and events. It was late when I typed this so later I will go over for mistakes and such. Thanks again for reading this!
