Not all of you may know this, but a week ago I traded my trusty KSC Glock 18C for a used Maruzen APS-2 SV sniper rifle. The Glock had served me well and constant cravings of wanting something new finally got to me and I started looking for someone to trade with. Since Minky being the evil wunderkind that he is didn't want to trade for his M3 Super 90 I decided to take a chance and go for this here beauty instead. All I can say is that I'm VERY pleased with this sexy new weapon of mine. The feel is great, weight is nice and stock power is very nice indeed. Along with the trade I aquired a CA gas cylinder which should replace the stock cylinder and push my FPS up to 480 with .36's. So in one word....EVIL! Haven't had much of a chance to shoot it yet, pesky kids are running around outside right now so it probably wouldn't be wise to start shooting in thier direction. I was able to take some nice pics for your viewing pleasure so enjoy good sirs. Also in the mail today a nice treat from Jackstraw and Bigmack, a Hurricane MP5/G3 scope mount. Now all I need is a nice red dot sight for it and I'll be a happy man.

Hado what kind of range are you getting with your stock spring?
I got my metric allen wrenches today so I can go to work on my M24 but I only have .25g as my heaviest bb so I don’t know what kind of range ill be getting, whelp, I am off to go buy a scope/mounts then ill see what I get with .25gs.

Didn't really get a chance to test it too well with the stock spring. Only fired off perhaps 10-15 shots outdoors with it before I noticed the kids playing outside and packed it all away. With the .25's I had it was hitting pretty hard, I could see it break through twigs with ease even at a nice distance. Range wise though it was a little hard to tell, everything here in the backyard forrest wonderland has gotten pretty green. So the once open spaces I had to check range with in winter are no longer there. Guess I can say this, the tree's I usually aim for to check range with my MP5 were getting hit hard without any sign of the bb slowing down or seeing it slowly start to sail downwards. Installed the gas bolt yesterday with some much needed help from Chupacabra. Evil trigger spring gave me plenty of worries, but in the end once it was all working it's just pure evil. Even on a low gas charge it was able to carve through coke cans with ease. In and out of the side with no problems at all, in the bottom and making monster dent on top of can as if it was made of butter. Very pleased! Going to switch back to the stock spring and sight in the sight (dont want to waste .36's on that) hopefully I'll have more news reguarding range after that. Manual says though it should go 50 yards easy with .25's and a stock spring. Sites report the stock spring can hit man sized targets at 150 feet 3 out of 4 times, constantly at 100feet and hit chest sized targets without a hitch at 75ft. Also they state it has better range than a stock PSG-1. Gotta go put Hado Jr to bed for his nap and then I'm off to test! edit: pics working again. yay

Wait a minute Hado, when all you guys found out my APS-2SV shot .43g's at 420fps most of you complained (not saying you) and some people acutally wrote letters saying that they would not participate in ONB if I used it. And now your telling me that your getting a gas bolt for your APS that shoots .36g at 480fps, mine only shoots 470fps with .36g bb's... Something seem wrong....?

I had a feeling you might reply to this thread PimP. Right now since I'm without a chrono I can't really get any exact readings from the rifle. I only mentioned it was shooting 480 because that's what Paco's old APS-2 SV was shooting with the same internals. check here: click and scroll a little. With the tests I've done on evil pop can's and comparing the results to Redwolf Airsoft's poor man's chrono I'm guessing it's shooting around the 430-470 mark since it can shoot through the bottom of the can without any trouble, but can't shoot through the top at all. (Using .20's for testing) It seems pretty evil I know, but if people would have problems with me using it I can always switch back to the stock spring. Since we currently don't have any regulations set up it's hard to say what the max FPS for bolt action sniper rifles should be. I think we should be fine though, afterall it's not like we're going to charge into the field shooting people at crazy close distances. By the way PimP, I have a couple questions for you reguarding your APS-2 SV. What kind of range do usually get? How's the accuracy, are you getting consistant shot groupings? What type of scope are you using, and do you have regular scope mounts or the higher ones? Had problems with my accuracy, but after cleaning the barrel it seems a little better. Can't really test out the range since I only have .25's to use with the stock spring and don't want to waste any expensive .36's using the gas cylinder untill I get my new scope.

Oh, and here are the long awaited pictures of my Custom APS-2SV... ;D customgun.tripod.com/Try not to soil yourself more then twice... ;D I get pretty good distance with my beauty. It only has the stock barrel and I will be replacing it soon with a tight-bore that extends out to the end of the silencer. I can hit man-sized targets with one shot 70% of the time at around 300 feet. Spectre and I had a test I stood on my porch and he walked out into the field I took aim, fired, and whap! Right on his right shoulder when I was aim'en for the middle of his back. I have a huge tape measure and from where I was standing to where he was standing was like 280 feet...and I have hit tagets alittle farther then that but not much more.
