if you are getting a springer i would recommend most any UHC pistol. they are a good company. I have two of thier guns.

What was that Beretta someone had at the last skirmish? Was it a UHC? It looked great, and had a very nice heft to it too. Never got a chance to actually shoot it, but eh...can't expect too much out of a springer anyway.
You can find those for under $20 on ebay methinks.

The UHC (Unicorn Hobbies Corp.) M92F is a good springer. It has higher velocity than all the other springers and it looks decent in all plastic. There are problems with the Beretta, however. Sometimes the part that feeds a new bb into the chamber breaks and causes the gun to jam. A reliable springer would be the Glock 17. The G17 has good power, but it looks cheesy. It's very durable, I dropped mine (while c-o-c-k-e-d) onto concrete from about 6 feet and I picked it up and fired it (no problems).
Don't ponder over which springer is better than another. Most of them are the same underneith. Just make sure you get one with a "Hop-Up" system, this means that the bb's will go farther.

basically what ED said. The glock 17 looks kinda bad but its really tough. Most springers are fairly comparable. My suggestion would be that you look through the good companies [UHC, TM, HFC (?)] then find one that you like the looks of. Thats how I pick all my springers =)

I say to hell with the springers and get a GBB or NBB.

The HFC NBBs (such as the Colt 1911) are much better than springers. You can find them for about $30, and for the extra $10 it is way worth it. I actually carry an HFC 1911 as a backup on the field, even though I have a KWC DE, KWC Colt Python and a KJW USP. It is very reliable.

yeah they are cool but its really annoying to fill them every time you want to shoot and make sure you always have gas for em. With springers you can just triddle with it whilw watching tv or something.

There are some problems with GNBB's. The cheap ones don't have a hop-up and don't go very far. A friend of mine has a cheap chinese NBB and it goes shorter than a springer. Also, most NBB don't have a high mag capacity due to that they must have gas stored in them. I like springers because you can play with them anywhere without gas or batteries.
Having a NBB can come in handy. Sometimes I take a Y&P Beretta onto the battlefield if I am low on bb's.

The HFC NBBs do not have hopup, but they have better range than my UHC 92f springer and my UHC MP5-SD3 springer, simply because of their higher FPS.
Yeah, the NBBs are a pain because of the stick mags and the need for gas, but springers are totally useless in a skirmish. I bought my springers when I was a newbie and didn't know any better, that definatly could have been money better spent.

my first nbb was a mauser hfc i think. it was pretty small, and i don't think it had hop up. But is was a very simple design and was very powerfull very accurate, used very little gas, and some how, went pretty far. I skirmished with it proly 4 times a week for about a month and a half before the valve snapped in half. I still had about an eigth of a can of gas when it broke (I used that can of gas the whol time I had the gun). bottom line, it is a good gun, and shoots harder than Newmans ics (integrated crap shooter).

Hehe@ICS! Anyway, I have one of the HW UHC M92 springers, and feel it is a great gun. It shoots hard and accurate, and mine works nicely with .2 BBs. I also have a KWC P99, which is supposed to be one of the best spring guns, but mine shoots like crap. The BB drops after about 20 feet, and I'm lucky if I can hit a pop can from 10 feet away. It looks and feels nice, but shoots like ass.
