Hehe I remember that. But Joe you have to remember we were playing in my backyard. At the places MiA plays it's wide open woodland area and the "out" area will be to far from the game to have any thing like that happen.

Can appreciate where you're coming from Ed. ONB is occuring April 6, during which will experiment with some rules & regs. Once again, we're creating a framework and nailing down some basic stuff.
Some thoughts on FPS levels.........
I too would like some freedom with my guns, but on the other hand I'm not fond of certain levels of pain (I'm wearing a couple tats, so don't think me a wimp, although the dentist appt. today stressed me out pretty good). Would you rather find out the hard way I have my gun running at 450+fps when I let ya have it at 25+ feet, or would you rather that was regulated? My example is extreme I realize, but being lax could result in pain and (minor) injury.
By the way, recent acquistions for another hobby of mine (knives) took Zeus' upgrade $$ - he's staying at around 375fps with .25's. You guys are soooooo lucky!
That brings me to another thought - NO REAL STEEL GUNS AT SKIRMISHES! As well, fake knives will need to be acknowledged if folks want to use them in battle.

As promised to all, I just completed "skimming the pond" of some debris that was floating on the surface - essentially I deleted the posts that had taken us far off track and into a place where none of us really wanted to be.
Are we done straying off course now?
I hope this serves notice for just how "we" (including me) can get out of control and off-track if we don't think first before acting. Please guys, I don't want to clean up any more messes like this. I have better things to do and "we" can certainly spend our time more effectively. Nuff said - back to topic.

Mind if I suggest a solution thats more administrative than actual? Hado, if you post your rules somewhere prominent on the site it might work better. Post them there, then let people discuss them. A poll might work, if a majority of the players vote for a change then you can change it. You still maintain control, and people will still feel like they are a part of the process.

Or perhaps he thought Jackstraw meant guns with real steel, as in metal upgrades ;D

I meant real guns that shoot real bullets. Except for joker, and he may not own anything that shoots BB's that's made of metal.....plastic only. And no motor, batteries, gas or springs. That leaves him with a slingshot (which I've read some folks have played with). <JOKING>
We can post some rules, but thought you folks might find some on the links provided and could post the ones you like. Behind the scenes Hado & I've discussed opening threads for some of the common topics. Perhaps we should start those with a rule and let you guys add your $.02.
EDIT: Tell ya what folks. If it's slow at work this week I'll put a little time into compiling some rules and will email 'em to Hado. We'll discuss 'em, work out some ideas we think YOU will like, and then post 'em under threads pertaining to subject. Still, don't hesitate to let us know what you think!

I just want to check: has there been any rules set in stone (before OP: RR?).

No rules that I have been made aware of, but I would hope you folks would experiment with a few!
I'm sorry I did not get on top of the rules this week, it was unexpectedly a very busy one (argh.......server log analyzation.....I'm goin' cross-eyed......bleh). Maybe this wknd or early next week.

I meant that i dont want there to be any laws for airsofting like there is for real weapons. But it might come down to this in a few years or so.

I Have To Agree With I Thank His Name Is Jackstraw Airsoft Is A Game Of Honesty The Person Or Persons That You Tag With An Airsoft Gun Should Tell The Exact Place That They Was Hit. It should Be More Like Combat Missions Where You WhereTag At You Should Lay There. And There Should Be No Telling When A Ambush Is Being Attempted If They Give It Away Than The Game Is Pointless If They Do Nark On A Player Than They Should Receive A Penalty Like 3 Strkes Your Out Type Of Thing Some May Not Agree But Thats The Way It Should Be

Whats with the caps? Blorfo and I were the ones talking about dyeing and not going to a safe zone not JackStraw. This is a really old topic too but I guess it's ok to refresh it from time to time.

A few concerns were brought up during this weekend's game in Howell, so in the interest of sparking some more discussion I thought I'd just lay them out: First and foremost in my mind is the need for a minimum standard of eye protection. I know of at least 2 or 3 people who were playing with only safety glasses, and I was worried every time I looked at them. I propose that we set the base line to be a full seal on the face, and that eyewear meets the ANSI Z87.1 rating. Pretty much any paintball or "tactical" goggle fulfills this role.... really guys, are your eyes not worth the $20 you'd have to spend on cheap PB goggles? Second we really need to get some limits set on upgrades and what can and can't be done with upgraded guns, i.e BB weight, FPS, minimum shot range etc. Needless to say I don't think many of us felt very comfortable playing with a gun that was shooting metal coated BBs with a 300% spring...in an AEG no less. I admit the owner of the gun used it very wisely, and used only semi-auto from what I saw, but I still feel that for the size of the playing area we had, a gun like that is waaaaayyyy too hot. Hell, I think Biggie's M120 is overkill, but I'm a little less scared now since he seemed more in control of his hosing ;D I know some people could care less if everyone had guns shooting .43s at 500 FPS or something, but you have to keep in mind that as we expand and start to play with other groups, you don't want your guns to be unusable due to upgrades that break their rules. I also think that having more powerful upgrades creates somewhat of an arms race, and the people that only have one AEG might feel the need to upgrade just to be able to compete. Those are the people I worry about not being able to use their guns that they put money and time into. I've said it before and I'll say it again... I think aiming for 350 FPS with .20 gram BBs will give you an excellent all around gun that you should be able to use in pretty much any situation. Off the top of my head I can think of me, Hadoken and Newman who all have guns that should be right around 350 FPS, and I thought all our guns performed great. I think the best thing for now might just be to default to the Airsoft Ohio FPS rules, since they are our closest airsoft neighbors and we're bound to play with them sooner rather than later.... not to mention that their rules sound just about right to me Third, and something that's bugged me since the first skirmish I played, is the issue of rules after you're shot out. I think we need to implement a "gag rule" for players that are hit, because there seemed to be an abundance of intel gathered from dead people at this past game. I'll be the first to admit to talking after I was shot out, but I tried not to give away positions. I also think the games work better when people make their way back to the start area after getting shot, as opposed to just laying where they were hit. It would save a lot of confusion to not have to yell at your motionless enemy to ask them if they are dead or not I'm sure I'll think of some more things I meant to post tomorrow, but I'm already having trouble typing as it is. Hopefully we can get some ground rules set before the next event, and after seeing how things go they can always be changed if they don't work out.

I say if you die hold your gun up in the air and go back to the safe zone. If it is unsafe to move just stay there and then when there is an oppurtunity run to the safe zone. I am a little uncomfortable with people using my dead body as a shield especially if there are no rules against 500 FPS upgrades firing .43s.
