Super surprised that nobody made an AAR by now, so I just went ahead and did it.
Personal thoughts:
-Administration: It was great to see the command structure of the squad system actually working in a Mil-Sim. I've been to a few now and towards the end of the games they seem to just fall apart. However that was not the case this time. The command structures were concise, well planned, and organized. The structure allowed for both teams to seemingly flow as they should, instead of half of the team lone wolfing it out behind some random cover.
-Game Flow: It went really well, considering that it was a MilSim so there was no real downtime between the games. However, the time getting started before play was a little bit exaggerated, mostly due to what appeared to be entire squads showing up late, (correct me if i'm wrong.) Other than the initial downtime, everything was peachy.
- Objectives: The structure of controlling a base worked very well, I also liked the captureable objectives that were not bases, (cases of weapons, etc,) as they gave a little bit more than just having an extra spawn point, as you had to chase the retreating carrier of it.
-Players: Everyone seemed very friendly, I heard not a single dispute over hit-calling on tan, no clue how it was on green. Everyone seemed to get along, mostly because everyone was matched with people they came with in squads, and the CO's were very friendly in giving orders and coordinating strikes on positions throughout multiple squads.
-Field: Everything was very nice, (thank god for 1 foot less snow than last time...) I liked how the field was not made into one huge battleground at all times, as it was divided in to various levels of control, that swapped often. I liked this because it kept everyone moving, and resulted in some pretty cool, and large firefights, instead of small 5 v 5 skirmishes around the map.

Had a great day out on the field today. Other than my personal gun issues and the like, it was a good bbwarz day for me. The good: Props were cool. As much as I hated it, the technical added an awesome element to the game. I hope green team will have one soon The chain of command seemed to be really solid this time around. I definitely liked having a platoon leader who was so active with his guys. the sportsmanship at this event was probably the best I've seen while playing airsoft. The "theme" element was really cool. Lunch break was just long enough to rest up and eat without feeling like you had time to fool around. The bad: Start up time seemed a little bit slow. Overall though that was because of players instead of the Bastards. I've enjoyed all of the bastards events so far. I'm sure they'll only continue to get better as well. Thank you Bastards!

Once again well done to The Bastards on another great event. I prefer the field with no snow, and will definitely be coming out again. On to specifics:
Organization- Like Puma said, I enjoyed having a platoon leader/occasional squad leader who was so active with the actual players, so props to Relarz and Mosin (during the recon mission in the second half) on that. I had a great squad even though half the time I didn't know where some of them were...
Gameplay- I'm a huge fan of semi-only, so I'm glad that's sticking around. The props were a great addition too, though I only interacted with a few crates in the morning. Dodging the jeep added another element that you don't see at every game, and as much as I hated seeing that stupid jeep roll up the road, it was a cool addition.
Sportsmanship- No problems at all, congratulating each other on shots, apologizing about shooting dead guys, and the like.
Only complaints on my part were that I couldn't get my radio to cooperate, the initial wait took longer than expected, and that 1st platoon took forever to see any action after lunch. All in all, nothing too serious or a big deal, I'll definitely be heading out to another Bastards event.
On a side note, who won? I left before I heard.

On a side note, who won? I left before I heard. We're getting away from this model of a "win/lose" platform because A) it's very moderator intensive to keep track of, when we can direct energy/resources elsewhere, and B) it almost takes away from the overall Military Simulation experience, because you're worried about "Doing ____ for _____ points" rather than "Hold the bridge because we can't allow Cesar's Legion to destroy the boomer's artillery". What you get out of games is the memories of the good firefights and the pride in accomplishing the objectives you did. Very much like real war gauging whether or not you "Won" or "Lost" is almost always subjective, as there are a lot of factors involved. From an outside standpoint, Tan definitely had us six ways to Sunday in the morning for the first hour and some change, and towards the end just before lunch Green started gaining some steam. It wasn't until I was (PURPOSELY) captured until I noticed the switch. When I was set to be publicly executed about two minutes before the sword came down we had Green guys within the city limits. In the afternoon, Green was holding it down well, not allowing Tan admission behind Highland to destroy the mortar tubes. Conversely on the North side, Tan wasn't allowing Green the ability to get into the city to get our guys in the HAZMAT suits the ability to grab that bomb and move it out, so it was almost a stalemate in that regard. It wasn't really until the last 5-10 minutes that Tan started gaining momentum and green started going into IDGAF mode. I'll type up a proper debrief in the morning. Personally I'm whipped from this game, so good job to the players for making that happen. Cheers, Mosin

If I could describe the game in two words - F**king Awesome!
Airsoft is never about winning or losing, its about creating memories and camaraderie among your group. I am hoping the technical adds to the gameplay for everyone and creates different scenarios that you don't get at other fields. For those that don't know I am the predominant driver for the tan technical and per the normal Mosin and the Bastards put on another fantastic day of airsoft for the community. From the morning execution mission with fighting to Mosin, capturing him, fighting to get him into the city, and then fighting off green at the city, to the after lunch assault on the hill when green all stuck together and made the jeep ineffective everyone I talked to was having a fantastic time.
We couldn't have asked for better weather, everyone at the game was pretty noble and didn't call any hit BS, and the game was run very smooth.
Mosin, this has been my best airsoft event in a very long time.
Thank you

This was my first Milsim, so I thought it was the best thing ever. The Platoon/squad system worked well in this scenario. The leadership was good on both levels, and didn't leave anybody inactive. The objective system was alright, but it was mainly just the great firefights that made the day. Jeeps are awesome in any context, but when you mount a MG on top and drive it around shooting all in its path. It was a great addition to the day. It also worked well as a scout car for tan, due to the fact that it would circle the hole field and end up at the start again. All in all I had a great day, and will probably go to all of the Bastard's events this year.

I had a great time. This was my first time out to Hells with no snow on the ground.
Quite disappointingly, I ran into a handful of times during the day where I watched through my 3x magnification people getting hit, flinching, and then either look around only to keep playing or slowly slide behind a tree. There was also one occasion of two shots from my pistol during a castle breaching where the player made a quite blatant choice to not call his hit (this one I have/was close enough to be caught on my recording). Other than that though, sportsmanship was great and I witnessed/received quite a few fist bumps and "good shot dude" situations.
My comms were down for a couple hours at the beginning of the day which was a real headache, but once I had them sorted out after needing to head back to the car to reload, I was a happy camper. The command structure was nice as others have mentioned. I felt a little bit left out as to what our objective was during the first portions of the game and was a little disappointed at the lack of communication between our platoon leader and the "troops". I guess my constructive criticism to you would be to be a bit more vocal to the guys around you (other than through radio communication that is). Other than that, you always seemed to be on the front line trying to push forward which was a great display of bb warz leadership so kudos to you on that.
Overall I had a good time. The game has made me decide to postpone my hiatus and to keep my stuff around a little longer.
I will post my videos once I am able.

...There was also one occasion of two shots from my pistol during a castle breaching where the player made a quite blatant choice to not call his hit. I believe I know what you are referring to. I was on the opposite team and saw that happen to the guy, I don't really know him at all but I did see the mod reprimand him later in the day because of multiple complaints. I had a great day regardless, I lost a mag but they run cheap and it is no big deal. The gameplay was superb and structured as far as the missions and medic system went. The medic system in particular was greatly set up, I had a lot of fun getting healed up and saving some of the downed medics themselves. There was a few instances where I got up from my cover and ran through the fire, grabbed somebody and got them back to safety to be healed by the medic, truly a great time and I created a lot of memories that day and I look forward to attending more operations like this in the future!

Now that I'm up and moving around, although a bit sore, I figure I'll give an official run down so to speak of what happened from our perspective, throughout the day.
0830 the gate was opened up, which was quite surprising to me because I've never had luck with them getting there earlier than when exactly contracted. I personally didn't arrive until 0850 due to a wrong turn and having to stop and get gas, but we still beat the masses.
0910 all props were loaded onto the truck to be driven out to each area of the field. I instructed my cadre to arrive no later than 0900, and was banking mainly on our new Treasurer to make that timeline to be able to run registration for those that prepaid as soon as possible.
0940 all props were placed on field and we were back in the parking lot, after a little bit of nail biting still waiting for our guy I instructed as many players as I could to just do the other parts of the check in process (Chrono & jam mags) while we wait for their arrival. Most seemed to be pretty receptive to this, and were willing to step back and see the big picture and go with the motions rather than complain that they couldn't get a wristband.
1010 our Treasurer showed up and we got the prepaid guys through the pipeline. As per the timeline I wanted to be on field at around 1030, but we still had masses of players showing up even after 1000.
1050 I finally got the briefing out to the guys, and we still had a few that needed to finish going through the motions, but those that were ready we had stage at the entrances of each side of the field, to patrol into their AO. Being that the AO is as big as it is, this evolution took about 20 minutes before everyone was set.
1115 Tan team launched, I figured since green was just getting settled in at Helo they'd be good to go to start the missions. As it turned out, Tan team was already at the vehicle on the side of the road, North of West Point before Green even stepped out of their uncap.
1130 Completely surrounded by Tan at our uncap, we decided to divert forces in one direction and punch South through Zulu. After taking some heavy losses and losing half of our materials we needed to bring to Highlands, we finally managed to flush out all of Cesar's Legion and punch into the West Point area.
From here the timeline gets a little skewed, as we had a lot of different firefights to coordinate. Utilizing the entire field really makes for a lot of movement before contact, and with a total roster of 81 players out there, having 40 spread out on each side made the engagements pretty good. We had a few issues with squads flat out going rogue, and as I said in the morning briefing the only way this new style of game play would 100% work would be if players stayed together and listed to their PLT SGT's. Those random squads that went off on their own threw a few curve balls in our direction, but it was nothing we weren't expecting.
1400 we called the game, to resume at 1445 (ended up being 1500 when we walked back on field). Since our mods were in field and some were on different channels coordinating the pizza run went a little slower than I wanted. In my mind I wanted our guys to leave for the pizza run prior to us going on break, so as players walked off field we had stuff waiting. In the future I'm going likely going to look at a local catering company or Jimmy John's to see about getting the players food with actual nutritional value.
The afternoon game play was my favorite of the day, just because the amount of steam Green still had. Holding the line to prevent the Legion from destroying the mortar tubes up until the game was called was pretty exciting for me. Unfortunate that I had some dirty sensors in my gun that prevented me from shooting as good as I should have been, but I think most of the players had a great time with it.
Hope everyone had a great day, we raised enough money to be able to purchase two more chronographs, which should speed up that line. In addition, we're going to have a stocked med bag and safety truck on standby in case (knock on wood) anyone gets hurt on field. Since I've got my fancy license now I'm legal to do about 25% of the stuff I used to be able to do, so if anyone gets hurt we can be out on site and have them packaged to be handed off to the Fire Department in 10-15 minutes, max.
Thanks again for coming out everyone, we've got a few more games in the works this year, although planning events of this scale isn't something that can be done in one day, and we don't want to give the players a sub-par experience if we can help it.
Another thing now that paintball season is getting ready to gear up is prepays, before April 4th of this year, it wasn't such a huge deal if we couldn't raise the required amount, but the next game we host if we can't bring in enough to lock the field I'd unfortunately have to repay the players and cancel the game, which I don't want to do.

I had a great day, besides being plagued with gun issues and not being combat effective for the first part of the game until I got my Tippmann purring like a kitten.
This was my first Bastards event and won't be my last.
Pros: Can't really say anything about the props because I never saw anything outside boxes and crates, however I don't doubt there was a lot of effort put into them. Jeeps were cool Loved the field The story was engaging and seeing the game follow Fallout lore so closely was pretty awesome, I wasn't expecting factions like "The Boomers" to be mentioned at all. Staff were friendly and organized My squad was filled with a bunch of cool dudes, he fact my nickname is Ogre and the field is mostly swamp led to a lot of pun's being made in the name of Shrek.
Cons: Slow start up time, wasn't really that bad considering the amount of players that were that that haven't attended a bastards, let alone a Milsim before. Speaking of which, I did see some dude on my squad running a high cap mag but didn't say anything because I could tell he was very new to the concept of Milsim. I was orginally hoping to photograph the first half of the event, then I realized I left my SD card in West Branch.
Had some awesome firefights. I know at one point when my squad was on that x shaped island that Area 51 is on, we split up our squad, we had a few guys covering Area 51 in the tower, some guys went to f3 and 4 of us took up the rear in the trenches. My best moment I've had was when we bored at this point due to the lull of action, and I started playing the radio from Fallout 3. complete with Three Dogs commentary, about 20 minutes into it, 15 Tan guys take out the tower and start advancing on the left, we open fire engaging in a massive firefight with 5 or 6 Tan while the rest assault our left flank while we have music from the 1940's playing in the background.
All n All it was a great day despite my gun problems, along with that firefight in area 51, defending Tippmann towers was a blast. Thanks to the Bastards for working around my initial Tippmann problems and letting me Chrono at lunch. I figure I almost have it dialed in good. Considering I was chrono'd around 330 with .30s and your FPS drops about 30 from every .5 you go up, you figure that would have put me in about 400 with .20s, factoring in joule creep, the 50 foot engagement distance they gave me seems more than fair, I'm just glad I have something to go off of now when I'm fine tuning my gun.

There was also one occasion of two shots from my pistol during a castle breaching where the player made a quite blatant choice to not call his hit (this one I have/was close enough to be caught on my recording). I'm pretty sure that the same guy you're talking about also shot me twice, despite the fact that I was on his team and was wearing a dead-rag. We thoroughly chastized him for it though, since I was his squad leader. Overall, we had a great time. The only part I didn't like was the last thirty minutes or so, when NCR seemingly gave up and just let Tan overrun. I recorded about 58 gigabytes of video from my point of view alone, and we had six other cameras running, so we should have some good video to show. Here's one of the group pictures we took, if any of you non-GSAT guys want it:

Unfortunately my battery was already half dead on my Gopro when I arrived and most of the engagements where I was filming are too short/uninteresting to post. Here is a small compilation of clips. I forgot to switch case backs so be sure to turn up the volume after the intro.
Also, I forgot to mention that throughout the day I ran into a number of guys who said that this was their first Milsim and that they were having fun. Thats always good to hear.
